3. That film is mainly an attack on the Internal Revenue system and the Fed Reserve.

Looks pretty libertarian to me...

From Wikipedia:

A review by the New York Times stated that "examination of the assertions in Mr. Russo’s documentary, which purports to expose 'two frauds' perpetrated by the federal government, taxing wages and creating the Federal Reserve to coin money, shows that they too collapse under the weight of fact.

- snip -

Misrepresentation of Clinton quote:

The film displays a quote:

"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans." Bill Clinton, March 11, 1993

What Clinton actually said (on March 1, 1993) was:

We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans to legitimately own handguns and rifles—it's something I strongly support—we can't be so fixated on that that we are unable to think about the reality of life that millions of Americans face on streets that are unsafe, under conditions that no other nation—no other nations—has permitted to exist.

That's pretty egregious a misquote.

The article also discloses that Russo had over $2 million of tax liens filed against him by the Internal Revenue Service, the state of California, and the state of New York for unpaid taxes. In an interview with the New York Times; however, Russo refused to discuss the liens, saying they were not relevant to his film.

I have no problem with attacking the Federal Reserve system, but it looks like a pretty weak film.

10. Russo is a Libertarian who has run as a Republican for congress twice
and failed. His "documentary" has gotten a lot of Americans in trouble with the IRS because of it's erroneous assertion that there are laws that prevent "a man's labor from being taxed", making income tax illegal and making income tax evasion defensible in a court of law (obviously he's wrong about this).

5. Technically, not PBS...
Although KBDI is an affiliate of PBS, local affiliates across the nation orchestrate their own Fund Drives. PBS would have had no hand in using Colorado911Visibility.org staffers to man the phones.

Still, very heartening that KBDI is making such a bold stride. Even more notable that all this was surrounding their broadcast of Russo's 'America: Freedom to Fascism'. They even mention that they had "taken a bit of flak for presenting different opinions about this..."

Local stations have a great deal of flexibility in their broadcast schedule, particularly in which programs they option from independent producers. VERY interesting choice.

11. So does "9/11: Press For Truth." I would be much more impressed if they'd run that.
