5. We're starting to hold them accountable

Yeah, sometimes these ads can be one-sided and take votes out of context. But on the other hand, Republicans have had a run of several decades where they reasonably could expect no real opposition, especially in these states where the DLC would not even try to compete.

Ads like this, as long as they stay within the realm of facts and do not grossly misrepresent the opposition's behavior, are very healthy. It puts Republicans on notice that we will hold them accountable when they next stand for election. It they want to fight things like minimum wage, SCHIP and other safety net measures while enriching the biggest corporations, they are on notice that this WILL be used against them.
