Eight Members of RNC Activist Group Lodged with Terrorism Charges

Ramsey County prosecutors have formally charged eight members of a prominent activist group with conspiracy to riot in furtherance of terrorism. The eight members of the RNC Welcoming Committee are believed to be the first persons ever charged under the 2002 Minnesota version of the federal PATRIOT Act. The activists face up to seven-and-a-half years in prison. We speak with the father of one of those charged and the president of the Minnesota chapter of the National Lawyers Guild.

It's happening here. There were only a few people, when people of ME and Muslim background were being thrown into jail right after Congress handed the Patriot Act to us, who were concerned about it. Now they are coming for us.

This is another attack to stop Americans from protesting about
this administration's criminal crimes.  

And to think Bush , Cheney , Rumsfeld , Rove and the
republican mob has committed treason , lies and illegal
invasion of another's country for their resources and
colonization , illegal spying on Americans , creating a secret
government , a national police force , stole our tax funds and
gave it to their family and friends war contractors ,
privatized our military and sold our country to the highest
bidder , and not one finger has been lifted to charge and put
them on trial for their criminal crimes.

And our government has the nerve to talk about China , Russia
, Saddam and the countries of Iran and Syria.
