Yesterday the Administration announced that they were sending a very senior diplomat to join the European/Iran talks.

Bolton reacts predictably calling it a complete collapse of the Bush Policy and the

"Early coming to power of the Obama Administration"

Today, after Bolton made this statement the Bush Administration confirmed reports that they were establishing contact with the Iranians.

1. bolton says nothing coming out of this meeting is the best we can hope for?
I'd take eight years of the world in a collective coma held in suspended animation over this Bush administration.

An ambassador that doesn't believe in diplomacy. What else would you expect from the Rethug neocons?

3. To these people, anything besides killing them is "emboldening" them
The Bush Administration's stepping back to try diplomacy is a step in the right direction.

Very good analysis of this developing situation, grantcart! A highly recommended K/R for the video and for your analysis at the link.

5. Bolton said the Bush administration has given up its "intellectual coherence" by taking this step
...:wow:  The neocon coherence I guess is what he means

...and John Bolton's best hope is that "nothing comes out of these negotiations with Iran".

What a f*cking war monger this asshole is :wtf:

6. "FoxFact" as opposed to a real fact.
I love that little insert where they highlight a "Foxfact". They should save that graphic. They could use that a lot.

Captain Kangaroo's evil twin.

RIP, Bob Keeshan.

7. Keeping this jack ass off the unemployment roles...
This idiot, who could NOT even be confirmed to the UN...THANK GOD....has zero credibility except with the propaganda network, and now even they are starting to smell shit on his breath.

This scum bucket is in the same class as "bloody william" and the rest of his ilk who want NOTHING short of war with Iran. He is disappointed in the fascist party...tough shit.

Hurry up Obama..and push that idiot out the back door. The war crimes tribunal is just getting warmed up for him and his cronies.

9. War is peace. Ignorance is strength.
And John Bolton is a diplomat.

Eventually he will end up on welfare, like Limbaugh was before his radio gig.

10. This whole thing looks like a set-up to me.

They will play this out for a little while, then something will happen to "demonstrate" that you "cannot deal with the Iranians." Obama's "appeasement" approach will be discredited, and they will dance closer and closer to an attack on Iran in the last days before the election.

Bolton sounds as if he's reading from cue-cards.

that probably is the plan, but iran having nuclear weapons is not going to be a picnic, the winners if iran gets the weapons will be:iran, syria, hezbulla and hamas, the losers:israel, fatah(the good Palestinians),all of lebanon except hezublla, egypt, saudi arabia and other moderate middle eastern countries, which side are you on?

13. They don't actually have to attack to make it work, just stir up the fear, hatred
and "patriotism" in time for the election.

It's hard to believe even they would be insane enough to actually start that war, for all the reasons you mention (assuming they have any rationality at all).
