Dan Abrams talks to Catherine Crier about John Conyers statement that if Rove refuses
to testify before Congress about the Siegelman case "We'll do what any self-respecting
committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt, either that or go and have him arrested".

1. Every fucking member of this administration has told whatever
'investigating' panel they've been summoned in front of to kiss off and die. And they've gotten away with it.

This is no different. Conyers is talking big. Election's coming, he'll keep blustering and running out the clock.

I am not impressed.

2. "It's about time," Damn right, Catherine. Why do they have to give him yet another week?
I can't believe the idiotic delays, every time someone blinks.
Issue the subpoena and get this thing rolling already!!!!

6. Imagine the frustration of following the law and working by committee, when Bush
is acting as a dictator.
How do you oppose a dictatorial Executive Junta?
Not by ignoring laws, procedures, etc.

It is a real conundrum, to say the least.
The imbalance is all on one side, of course.

Conyers is simply working with what he has for tools, and not
stepping outside the law, as Bush and his Junta do daily!

I'm not as patient as this situation requires either.

I've worked in a dictatorship, and, in that position, I too ruled by decree.
It was fast, easy, and effective. Decide, and it is done!!

Problem we have, our Executive Junta is criminal, not benevolent.

4. I Used To Really Get Behind Conyers
but he kept letting me down. Not getting my hopes up yet.

5. I would personally cuff and stuff his pasty fat ass into the back of my truck,
and drag his ass up to capitol hill.

9. I have a few concerns, as expressed in this analysis
Some Reflections on "Rove in State of Panic." Are things what they seem?

There is a certain amount of self-hype that, while grating, is to be expected in their competitive realm,
but sometimes the talking heads fail to realize they are not the story, and they go over the Gonzo cliff.

That moment is usually perceptible by their level of auditory output, in addition to the self-congratulatory adulations.

In the case of Abrams and Siegelman, Dan lost a lot of respect, in my view, when Gov. Siegelman started
naming Republican names and Dan talked over him with that infamous, "Let's keep it simple." Jeeez!!

That said, I think he got the feedback, and I detect some toning down.
This is not to say a ruse is not still afoot, and perhaps just refined.
