Today, the House will consider the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 3773, to amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 to establish a procedure for authorizing certain acquisitions of foreign intelligence, and for other purposes. The revised House legislation to amend FISA grants new authorities for conducting electronic surveillance against foreign targets while preserving the requirement that the government obtain an individualized FISA court order, based on probable cause, when targeting Americans at home or abroad. The House bill also strongly enhances oversight of the Administration's surveillance activities. Finally, the House bill does not provide retroactive immunity for telecom companies but allows the courts to determine whether lawsuits should proceed. Rep. Jane Harman speaks in favor.

Are ALL COMMUNICATIONS routed overseas to circumvent US law and the Constitution?

I was told years ago that ALL fiber optic communication traffic was routed overseas so that "everything" was moved outside the protections of the law and Constitution and ANYTHING could be monitored. I thought the idea quite fantastic even though it came from a very reliable source that would know exactly such things. Then, the story of the fiber optic splitters hit my radar. I now see now how easily exactly that, routing ALL COMMUNICATIONS overseas, was accomplished.

Is this Bush's and the Telecom's HUGE crime hidden and covered-up behind this story?
ABSOLUTELY! That is why it is so important to the Rs!

Harman was the one that drafted and introduced HR 1955 The Homegrown Terrorism and Violent Radicalization Act which is without a doubt one of the worst pieces of legislation to have ever hit the floor - which is saying a lot! Words fail me as to just how much of a traitor this women is to the basic principles and freedoms that are guaranteed us in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Calling this disgrace to the humane race a patriot shows either your ignorance or naivety to a point of imbecility.

5. She was right for once and she needs to be encouraged to

be right more of the time. I also realize it took a whole lot of pressure from a whole lot of people like me who never let them rest. Frankly I think the pressure is what is finally beginning to keep them a bit more honest. We are living in a fast changing world and imo computers and what they allow every day people to do are moving the fastest in changing the landscape of WDC.

gratitude and praise to this one issue on which she voted correctly; So she knows in the future she is being watched and will be held accountable. However you must admit she is on the right side of this issue for which,considering her past she deserves credit. 7. Harman, et.al. are getting a bad rap from the Dem bashers, and WHY?

Because, they have the goods on Bush, for being lied too.
They had to be vigorously attacked and discredited, a priori,
which was all too easy since they were under an oath constrained
from even reporting lies.
