12. I agree. Dismiss her as the politics of yesteryear
and divisiveness. And laugh her off. Nothing pisses off idiots like that more than making them look irrelevant.

18. Especially since she is a "political analyst" on FAUX NEWS!!!!
Perhaps we should drag out Ferraro's husband's background????

3. Brava!
I Love this woman!

She is absolutely correct, and Axelrod is a race-baiting scumbag.

4. Now WHO brought up the subject of race here? It was Ferrarro, not Axelrod!
Racists love Ferrarro. Rational people are embarrassed for her. Ferrarro says "give me a break". What a load! She has talked about a candidate who has put together a tremendous organization, has inspired millions by his speeches, has not gone negative in this campaign, has won twice as many states as Hillary and is on the verge of getting the nomination. Even though Obama has brought out a shit load of new voters, has appealed to independents, young voters and even cross-over Republicans....how does Ferrarro summarize his successes? He is black! Now she says "give ME a break"! Hey race baiter Ferrarro: give Obama a break! He has done more to excite more Democrats than you ever did! Not because he is black. Because he is presidential and has a beautiful message. I get sick and tired of people who are the quickest to scorn others try to hide behind the sorry, lame cliche of "give me a break". Hey, Ferrarro, practice what you preach!

6. It wasn't a racist comment.
anymore than Ferraro saying she wouldn't have been the VP candidate in '84 is sexist.

Axelrod is always quick to spin anything as racist --and of course anyone who hates Clinton will jump onboard and agree.

It's the slimiest, dirtiest bit of campaigning --and no surprise that the Obama camp brings this out on the day of the Mississippi primary.

These Hillbots don't see anything wrong with this. But if Hillary wasn't married to Bill she wouldn't be where she is. Just think if Michelle Obama said "Hillary wouldn't be where she is if she were not a woman". These Hillbots would be screaming sexism. They never cease to amaze me.

15. it is racist
and she is sexist.

but lets put that aside. even if its not racist, it is offensive to everyone that supports obama. it would be like me saying the only reason you support hillary is because she's a woman. it just insulting and ignorant.

19. No, it doesn't do anything of the sort.
It merely points out the reality that Obama may have gone unnoticed as a candidate if he was just another white man with one Senate term --just as Geraldine acknowledges SHE might have gone unnoticed if she had not been a woman.

It's a reality.

It doesn't speak to either's qualifications --and I am quite positive that there are many qualified individuals that could be President that go unnoticed for a variety of reasons.

21. its not a reality. its an opinion. and its wrong.
i didn't "notice" obama because he is black. i didn't notice ralph nader because he is a white. i didn't notice john edwards because he is a white. the fact that obama is half black is completely irrelevant. his race is not the reason i "notice" him. i noticed him because i liked what he said. i support him for many reasons. i agree with him on 95% of the issues, he seems like he would be competent, and he isn't corrupt like most other politicians.

i can only speak for myself, but hillary's sex is completely irrelevant to me too.

do you think every black politician might have gone unnoticed if they had not been black? or just obama? do you think every successful female politician would be unnoticed if they were male?

24. whats the point?
the first time i heard about him was after his speech at the convention. but the first time i really noticed him was when my friend who is a teenager and never reads books (unless its for school) and doesn't give a shit about politics told me he was reading Audacity of Hope.

the point of her statement was to diminish his accomplishments and to diminish his supporters. lets assume its not racist. she must have known it would be interpreted as racist. shes a politician. she knows exactly what shes doing. it was very deliberate. why would she do it? think about it. why would she even mention his race?

i'm waiting for an answer to my questions. do you believe every black politician is successful because he or she is black? and do you believe every female politician who is successful is successful because they are female?

25. Of course I don't
and that wasn't the point of Ferraro's comment either.

Her point was closer to the OPPOSITE of what Axelrod has framed it as.

That many good candidate possibilities are overlooked because of race and gender.

She made the observation (and it is true) that she and Obama are exceptions to that rule --and were lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Hence my asking -- When did you notice Obama? Or did you think his being a "skinny black kid with a funny name" played no part in his delivering the keynote at the 2004 convention?

26. so its just luck now
hes getting all these votes because he is lucky.

if she believed many good candidates are overlooked because of race and gender she should have said that. she didn't. she said the opposite: that candidates are successful because of their race and gender.

what makes it really offensive is that obama's race is actually an OBSTACLE that he overcame and must continue overcoming. she stated he wouldn't be in this position if he was a white man. that is the same as saying he is only in this position because he is a black man. it implies being black is an advantage when running for president, which is absurd. it is the opposite of the truth. that is the irony. one would have to be a moron to actually believe that being black gives someone an advantage when running for president of the united states.

In HillaryWorld the Obama camp called up Ferraro and asked her to get on this for him right away so he could use her racist and sexist comments right in time for Mississippi.

Oh that... that's my package. God delivered it. I signed for it. World keeps on turning...

5. obama doesn't need Ferraro to raise money for him....he doesn't
need the DLC to raise money for him. He is kicking ass in fundraising on his own. He didn't have to supply a personal loan to his campaign which brings us to just how effective SHE is at fundrasing for ANY candidate.

in one breath she says he has run one of the best campaigns she has ever seen, that he has a great message, etc. yet she still says that if he wasn't black he wouldn't be where he is. So following that "logic" a white man running the best campaign she's ever seen, with a great message can't win the nomination. What a load of crap! There is NO WAY she can talk her way out of her comments being racist.

30. You all completely missed the point.
You act in the way you CLAIM the people you hate do, and in so doing, you alienate the people you will desperately need in November.

Stop treating these fellow Democrats like you claim the Party has treated you: as an assumed asset. That is the easiest way I know of to lose that asset.
