More than 700 nurses are on a three-day strike in Oakland, California over health care costs. The nurses walked off their jobs at Children’s Hospital Oakland Tuesday. The RN’s say increases in their health care costs would mean paying nearly $4,000 a year. The nurses say generations of nurses worked to win the standards they have today and they reject turning back the clock to lower health care benefits.

1. I am torn here because while I believe health care costs

should be reduced for everyone, in my experience working in health care I can tell you that usually RN's pay less for the same insurance or better than say Nursing Assistants, Lab people, CMA's or even LPN's. As a CMA I was paying nearly that 8 years ago I got lucky my SO went to work for a company that allows for domestic partner and child coverage same insurance and it costs much less through him
