UAW Says It Will Be In The Streets Fighting For Social And Economic Justice

http://www.laborradio.org/node/13864

By Doug Cunningham

UAW President Bob King says under his leadership the union will be in the streets fighting for social justice because it’s the way to do the best job taking care of UAW members. The UAW has launched a campaign for jobs, justice and peace partnering with the Rainbow Push Coalition. An August 28th Detroit march for social and economic justice is planned. It will commemorate the 1963 Freedom Walk in Detroit when the UAW joined Dr. Martin Luther King in a march that drew 125,000 people. The UAW has also begun picketing Toyota dealerships in California and New York as part of an effort to organize Toyota’s non-union U.S. operations.
