It's time to put things in perspective here.
2,372 U.S. soldiers have now died in Bush's war in Iraq.

That is roughly the same number of people that live in this town: Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

I have been to Pelican Rapids. It's a growing, prosperous town out in the lake country of Western Minnesota. It's got a few fast-food restaurants, specialty stores, and lots of resorts located in town.

Imagine if all the people in this town died because of something the president and his administration did. Wouldn't more people be outraged??

1. What about the Iraqi population
Iraq has 23-ish million people in it; at least 100,000 have been killed.

The US population is about 13-15 times as large, right?

So this would mean that 1.3 or 1.5 million Americans killed as a result of the war.

And many more wounded.

3. Ah, but those are BROWN people
and my, look, brown people mostly in NOLA, too! Do those count as much as light beige people?

(EXTREME :sarcasm:)

Perhaps we could add ALL the bodies that Bushie et-al have put in the ground and see what city that would fill. I'm guessing it'd be a lot better-known name than Pelican Rapids.

I would be an "insurgent". Iraqi people are earthlings too......

5. OK, I can see that but would you
bomb the church on Sunday morning or the Stop and Shop on Saturday afternoon?

8. How deeply ironic
You post this thing about the losses of American soldiers, but you're not willing to rule out slaughtering children? Interesting. As for your comparison, I live in a town considerably smaller than the one you posted about. We've lost 3 soldiers to the fuck up in Iraq. Imagine that, if you wll, in a town of under 3,000. Virtually everyone knows the families.

12. I hate war, but most wars entail intentional attacks on civilians
You know, that sad reality of ends justifying the means.

Look at WW2. Allies intentionally kill mass numbers of civilians in carpet bombing. Not many people look back and blame them.

2. How outraged are "more people" about New Orleans?
"...because of something the Resident and his administration did..." (didn't do, I guess. Splitting hairs)

Not trying to knock down or poke holes in your assertion, just saying we already HAVE dual examples of this. I think people ARE outraged. Outrage plus three bucks and counting will buy you one gallon of gas.

10. who cares?
all Murkans are just peasants. They either make the bosses richer or they die. And do both as cheaply as possible. Period.
