The pessimists are wrong on this Plame thing
Everybody knows that Bush said that he had nothing to do with the outing, and anybody who did would be fired. That much can be proved over and over.

Everybody also knows that nobody's been fired over this.

Now everybody knows that Bush himself was involved.

It isn't about if he broke the law or not. It's about his lying, and that's where the rub is. We tolerate lawbreakers (especially if it's for the 'merikan people in a time of war). Nobody tolerates being lied to.

Bush doesn't have to be even accused of a crime now. He's done for regardless, I think.

14. I hated it when Clinton lied, but how paltry was his lie in comparison to
ONLY lies of this neocon, evil, self-serving, anti-government of B*. I say anti-government, because it has consistently "done so much for so few who needed so little" (Eliot Spitzer) and it has lied and killed thousands to accomplish its greedy goal, all cloaked in the most vicious of lies, that being that their goal was "demoocracy" "freedom", and "morality." Spit on them all. If this doesn't remove them from office, then I truly pity the US.

Note: The sarcasm symbol is just the word sarcasm, surrounded by :'s

: sarcasm : I added extra spaces so you could visualize. :sarcasm:

Linda Tripp has of making new friends.

4. Um... nobody tolerates being lied to?
Bush lies whenever his lips are moving. Don't get your hopes up over this. We've had lies, unjustified war, subversion of the Constitution, skyrocketing defecit, etc, etc. This isn't going to bring him down.

12. You are exactly right. It seems to me that a lot of people tolerate
"being lied to." This whole freakin' administration is lie after lie after lie. No one seems to give a shit or do anything about it. SOP for this administration seems to be "lie your ass off."

This "latest revelation" will be spun by the WhiteHouse and nothing will come of it. I hate to be a pessimist but we've seen this shit too many times.

Bush could have anal sex on the White House lawn with Mark Gannon and no one would care. "It's within the President's authority during war time to bugger whoever he wants. It's written in the Constitution."

They were all lied to by Bush also. At some point they have to just throw up their hands and say 'what an ***hole I've been to back this guy'

Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 03:19 PM by npincus
That was before the pessimism sank in. The average American won't get beyond the first reaction.. they don't think about this stuff as much as we do.

8. Pessimists are secretly optimists waiting for a better deal
I did have that inclination to dismiss the whole deal a long time ago.

I am not buying it, the whole CIA \Plame\ Novak Thing is B.S.

10. Good point about Iran/contra
Funny how Iran's still on the front page today.

We just need Ollie North to comment on Wilson/Plame and I could get my flock of seagulls hair back.

I guess the real trick to getting satisfaction after having watched this for so long is just living longer than them to see the real truth come out.

I am still a young 47, so we got some more to wait

11. He didn't wag his finger on national TV
and that would be the coup de grace.

The problem is that most people out in TV land don't know about the scandal, why it's a scandal, who Scooter Libby was, and why we all know Libby didn't wipe his ass without approval from the top.

If the media DID ITS FUCKING JOB we'd have people organizing all over the place, writing letters and making phone calls to congresscritters and making it completely uncomfortable for any of those old boys to protect the head weasel in the White House.

Unfortunately, the rich men who run things love their tax cuts and we're not likely to see the sort of public outrage that is necessary to unseat a law breaking president.

13. Only Clinton is not allowed to lie. As long as the thugs maintain
control of both houses that is going to be the case.

YES, Americans are pissed and we don't want to take anymore, but honesty and integrity in government is IMPOSSIBLE with these nut-jobs in control.

The only hope is that we can manage to overwhelm them so much at the polls that it becomes absolutely impossible for them to pull anything with the machines. The way I see them fighting right now I think they have every intention of dicking with the machines this time too.

I don't see the defeated attitude the rest of you see here. They still act like schoolyard bullies at every turn. I see them getting a little shaky but certainly NOT defeated.

I HOPE and PRAY even that YOU are right, but the reality is their power right now is STILL absolute.
