Poll question: "For the good of the...": What comes first for you?

Redstate.com applauds Tom DeLay's putting "the good of the party first" (allegedly). What would you say you put first?

4. THE CONSTITUTION
If we put our efforts into protecting and defending the constitution that will give us strength to take care of the other items.

Republicans care only for the party and that puts the constitution in very perilous ground.

8. All self-abnegating platitudes aside,...
...ya gotta take care of yourself first, otherwise you won't be able to do anything about any of the secondary priorities. In the context of politics, however, I gotta agree with BOSSHOG that the Constitution should be our guiding light. If it were actually followed, we wouldn't be in Iraq, we wouldn't have been in Vietnam,....

11. Does that mean "the nation?" Or "the world?"
Your post made me think that "the party" is really "the tribe." Then again, so are most configurations of human society in some ways--including the nation. And the species.

12. I guess I mean everyone in the world.

I am on this kick right now; it's so simple but so complicated....why can't everyone on this planet just recognize that if we learn to get along despite our differences, we'd solve so many problems? If people chose to make unselfish decisions understanding that we must all coexist together - treated others with respect and compassion - we could perhaps truly exist in peace.

As I said, it's so simple really. ;-)

13. "...country" is what first came to mind when I read that, before seeing
the options.

Just seemed the natural finish to the phrase.
