Kerry was in my city this weekend. Jacksonville, FL
He went bike riding and stopped by unannounced at a Democratic dinner.

He said he was here just to thank past supportors for their work in '04.

I think he is drumming up support for '08.

1. He stopped by unannounced
Geez, hope they had a spare plate and enough 'rubber chicken' to go around. (Move over, we need an extra seat here.)

3. No, I did not get to see him.
But from the article in todays paper he was very well received.

And, yes he would get my vote again. Gladly.

4. He has made a point since the last election, to thank everyone who
supported him in 2004. He really is a great guy. And as far as drumming up support in 2008, maybe he will run maybe he won't, but I doubt his thank yous were for that reason.

5. I agree. I did not mean to imply that he was here just to drum
up support. It sounded like he was here to thank everyone.

6. Senator John F. Kerry...
was here in Cincinnati March 13; he met with the mayor and small business owners
and, yes, I was fortunate enough to be invited to another meeting that day, of 2004 county
campaign committee chairs (15 or so of us) which he had requested a few days earlier. It was
indeed a "thank you" and "tell me what you're thinking about" session, ~45 minutes. He listened
closely, asked pertinent questions. First comment I made was to stay the hell away from
the Beltway Mafia consultants; i.e., grassroots are the energy source. He understood my point.
Several of us discussed the broken election system, non-auditable DRE's, etc. It was a fine
session overall; both sides of the conversation were effective. He may be looking at '08, it wasn't
broached. It was an honor to sit down with the man who had the true 2004 plurality.

7. Lucky you!
That was great advice you gave him.
If he runs again in 08, I think he learned his lesson
about the beltway v the grassroots.
