HAW HAW: Katherine Harris Vows to Sell Her Assets to Pay for Campaign!
http://www.tbo.com/news/metro/MGBED3L33LE.html

Oh, it doesn't get better than this! Can you see it: Katherine Harris shaking a tin can on a street corner, garbed in an old, flea-bitten mink stole, some shabby faux pearl necklace, and mismatched loafers, begging for change on a Tampa street corner? Well, you've got to give her this: she's an optimist! HAW HAW

TAMPA - U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris continued her attempt to take her campaign to national television and to add religious overtones to her quest for a U.S. Senate seat with an appearance on ABC News "Nightline" Tuesday.

Harris told John Donvan, of "Nightline," that she intends to sell all her personal assets to fund the race. "My husband has real estate, but I will not own anything."

Since making a pledge last week to put $10 million of her money into the race, Harris has made the phrase "putting everything on the line" a new campaign theme.

"I am willing to take this widow's mite, this pearl of great price, and put everything on the line," she told Donvan. "No matter how much you have, are you willing to take what you have and sell it all for a great price?"

13. She just wants to be a good Christian wife
meaning completely dependent on her husband financially as well as subject to all his whims.

I'm sure that's just a little piece of paradise to that stupid woman.

6. Her husband's $20 million will just have to do, won't it?
The $10 million is her inheritance.

Her husband's money will, of course, continue to support her lifestyle.

29. She will inherit a hell of a lot more than a measly 10 Million.

Her old man was worth well over $700 Million when he expired.

Her father, Polk County banker George Harris, died of a heart attack in January. He was reported to have assets worth more than $750 million.

27. Not a euphemism for virginity.
It's an allegory from one of the Gospels about the kingdom of God.

8. She won't own anything .... until the deeds are changed after she
blows her money ... or until her husband dies and she inherits THAT TOO!

Is she going to sell those implants too? Seems she consider them "assets" judging by her side view interviews.

19. I have not hard evidence, but that interview with her totally in
profile spoke volumes about it. She went from non-descript to "full figured" overnight.

There are some great pics of her on horseback floating around DU too. Tight pink sweater and horse between her legs.

I would LOVE IT if we could get the real skinny on her surgeries. Look at her face ... she has had work done all over!

Honey, you're 15 minutes are over. Your "assets" aren't worth the kind of money it would take to get it back.

22. Harris is worth at least $39 Million according to this AP article.

Link: http://www.wfts.com/stories/2006/03/060322harris.shtml

Nelson's spokesman, Dan McLaughlin, wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press that Harris' comments Tuesday were misleading.

"Katherine Harris would have Florida voters believe she's on the verge of being destitute because, she claims, she has put all her inherited $10-million fortune on the line," McLaughlin said. "But public records put her remaining net worth at up to $39 million. You simply cannot believe a single thing Katherine Harris says, about this or anything else."

And her $10 Million combined with this $39 Million is really just small change if you consider what she is going to inherit from the recent death of her 'daddy'. He was said to have been worth at least $700 Million.

So the poor little rich girl isn't so poor after all. Not even close to it.

28. The use of "Widow's Mite" offends me
The original Widow's Mite referred to an account in the gospels, with a woman who put two copper coins in the Temple treasury. Jesus said she gave more than the rich folks who tossed in sacks of gold, because they gave of what they had to spare, and she gave what she needed for herself.

I feel confident that Ms. Harris is not going to be missing any meals because of personally funding her ego-trip.
