Rush puts the number of soldiers slaughtered in Iraq "in perspective" on his web site. He didn't include the 3000 dead from 9/11 but you can assume he thinks they should be put in perspective too.

is the fact that there are 2300+ dead in Iraq out of what, about 120,000 total people. How many of you have ever fallen down? You must be counted against the total (45000) killed during that activity. I bet one hell of a lot of people went swimming over the last 3 years, likely a lot more than 120,000.

I mean I would never have termed it "no big deal" because obviously it was a big deal and a big tragedy.

But when you think about other preventable deaths, such as those from diet- and cigarette-related cancer, or hunger or the fact that people are still dying from completely preventable diseases in places like Africa, and how US little society has changed because of all that, it is shocking how much has happened because of 9/11 when the numbers killed are miniscule in comparison. Those other things should have had a much bigger impact on our public life.

Maybe that's what he meant?

1st off, 9/11 was a horrible, unforgiveable tragedy. our attack on the taliban & al qaeda was fine with me - although use of proxy forces was idiotic & let OBL get away.

but our nation withstood 9/11. i hate to say it, but we could withstand another 9/11, if not several. look at the terror attacks israel withstands. 3000 people is roughly 0.00001% of our population. our economy freaked because our president is a fucking tool who took exactly the wrong approach.
