You're sadly transparent. :)

Oh but don't worry- this will turn out to be bullshit. Just like everything else the right has pushed for the last 5 years.

25. Post the links and a snip from the article, which you paraphrase
in another thread. The article is here:
http://abcnews.go.com/International/IraqCoverage/story?id=1734490&page=1

and contains numerous editor's notes calling the source for the information into question.

No beer, guy.

Donors have the ability to search--it's quite a handy thing, really.

2. The Freepers are hoping that this will be some kind of Smoking Gun
However it is not. In fact, there are revelations that Saddam was worried about potential Al Qaeda infiltration in 2002, and wanted defend against that...

Note to editor- Saddam was/is a horrible human being but he didn't " Hussein halted all cooperation with those inspectors and expelled them in October 1998" they were pulled out at the request of the US (Pres.Clinton) so we could bomb them.

7. LMAO...the best part....
...is that the big part of the story is on WND.

This should tell you all you need to know.

"Among the first batch of the thousands expected to be declassified over the next several months, the Al Mukabarat document was translated from the original Arabic by a contributor to the online forum Free Republic."

We have already released, on two seperate occasions, two volumes of intelligence briefings in which we ADMIT there was no connection. This is all nonsense.

16. What fucking happy horseshit this is!
Geez, this misadministration is getting desperate people. Here they are, trotting out documents in Arabic(can anybody translate) and claim that the documents supposedly discuss bin Laden and WMDs:eyes: The documents that are translated into English, and that do discuss WMDs are dated from 1987! This is just another pathetic attempt to defend the indefensible by an adminstration trying to CYA.

Don't fall for the bullshit people, for that is all that these "new revalations" are, complete and utter bullshit!

Can anybody here translate the original documents? It would be mighty interesting to see what they really say.

I still don't buy the notion that Saddam was conspiring with Osama. All tried and true sources of Iraqi intelligence have unequivicolly stated that Saddam wanted nothing to do with bin Laden or his group due to the fact that Saddam didn't want fundamentalist Islam to gain a toe hold in his country, and possibly grown strong enough to topple him. Geez, he went to war with Iran in part to prevent this scenario, do you actually think that after doing that Saddam would simply welcome Wahabiism in with open arms?

And as far as WMDs go, don't you think in light of the fact that US troops were rolling over the Iraqi army Saddam would have thrown everything he had, including WMDs, at the US troops in order to slow or stop our conquest of his country? And the real telling tale here is that despite occupying the country and having free reign to go whereever we wanted for the past three years, the US has yet to find even a hint of WMDs anywhere in Iraq.

This is just more propaganda bullshit being put forth by a desperate administration in the hopes of reviving sinking poll numbers and bring about political success in the mid term elections this fall. Don't buy into the BS.

that SOMEBODY (maybe not you or I) could translate to prove false. It's still probably BS though, just BS in Arabic. lol.

19. All this means is that
Saddam was more worried about Osama than we were, if it's even a legitimate source.

Nice try. If it was a smoking gun, then you can bet your hiney it would be on the front page of everything right now.

Freeper frustration, that's the only thing pushing this thing

28. If something appears too good to be true right wingers, it is.
What are the chances that we would find a few documents in Saddam's archives that prove all the claims of the right wing at the same time and Bush would not be all over the tv screaming that he was right?

And according to the documents the Iraqis destroyed all documents as a rule. So I am supposed to believe that they missed a few that proved all the crap Bush and the right wingers have been saying.

30. I watched a RW'er on C-SPAN with this subject. One, The tape quality was
absolutely horrible. It was full of static, long silent pauses, noise, you name it.

Two, The guy that was supposedly translating obviously had a huge ax to grind (RW).

Three, some of the Arabic used in the tape had as many translations as you have toes and fingers.

After examining the facts as presented, and being a person of average intelligence, I came to the conclusion that you could make any case that your little heart so desired.

It reminded me of people trying to translate the book of Revelations. Oh, Oh, the six headed monster means the European Union. No, No, thats the six countries of the new americas.

In other words: BULL SHIT
