Red states divided, blue states united?
New study shows dramatic discrepancy between rich and poor voters in Bush states

WASHINGTON -- Consider the portraits that Republicans and Democrats paint of each other. They explain much of the loathing in our politics.
Democrats see Republicans as a collection of pampered rich people who selfishly seek to cut their own taxes, joined in alliance with religious fundamentalists who want to use government power to impose a narrow brand of Christianity on everyone else.

Republicans see Democrats as Godless, overeducated elitists who sip lattes as they look down their noses at the moral values of "real Americans" in "the heartland" and ally themselves with "special interest groups" who benefit from "big government."

Notice that each side is waging a class war in condemning the other as nauseatingly privileged. Yes, these are both parodies. But parodies are weapons in political battles, so it's important to assess the relative truth of each side's claims.

Begin by dismissing

1.  overeducated elitist
How in God's name can anyone be overeducated? This must have been written by a very uneducated person that was very sensitive about their deficiencies.

3. an example of overeducated elitist
If you have a Harvard MBA but kept on crashing businesses, then wind up collecting a goverment paycheck for the past 11 years, only to prove desparately incompetant at your job, you are overeducated.

If you can't go out in public without have the public "screened" by your bodyguards and neither know nor care what life is like for people who have to work for a living and never get fired for your incompetance and refuse to listen to a balanced presentation of facts, then you are an elitist.

Does that help?

2. Blue state governors / Red state governors
California (blue?) has Arnold, Hollywood has been and GOP kissy face boy, seems to spend a lot of time with rich guys raising money for rich guys, when not doing that, seems to spend a lot of time fucking working class and working professionals

Montana (red?) has Brian Schweitzer (D), innovative scientist, real populist, real participant in ranching/farming, working hard to promote alternative energy sources, takes he dog just about everywhere

This red/blue thing is a GOP device to invent more wedge issues based on geography.
