OK I was wrong. Bash all the Dems you want. Campaign against
Dems that you don't like and for the ones you do.

Concentrate on the 2008 elections right now.

It is extremely wrong for me to want there to be unity @ Democratic underground and in the party. I think we should post threads that criticize all candidates whenever they say things that we don't agree with. I mean how else will they learn? I mean for real, which of us agrees with any candidate 100%? So, it should be easy to scour and find things and post them to make sure they hear our voices. It makes no sense for them not to listen. THIS IS OUR GOVERNMENT DAMN IT! So whenever a candidate says something that is reported in the media that we don't agree with we should all come here and post threads about what they said. Then we need to start putting up candidates against them in the primaries who can kick their ass out of office.

I'm beginning to agree that we should replace just about everyone in the house and senate. Russ of course can stay. The rest must go. I'm unsure about Boxer because she did something I didn't like a few weeks back so she may need to be replaced too.

But I'm beginning to like this hard-line attitude. Take no prisoners. You should only be in office if you have pure progressive views all the way down the line. So only candidates endorsed by MoveOn, and PDA should be approved for our support.

Personally I'm really think I'm going to like this tactic. So, y'all got me. Y'all win. Let's go take some fuckers out!

Please list the candidates that you like and why and who you don't like and why. Familiarize me with the core Progressive candidates or potential candidates who need to be key replacements for which states in the congress and on State and Local levels.

21. The more I read about JC the more I love him. Too bad his followers
have messed up his message.

Do you think JC could get elected if so what ticket would he be on the DEM or GOP.

Which party would endorce him?

Isn't that something to think about.

27. Well you know the Fristians would vote to crucify him again. He would
set a bad example being kind to Gays and the sick and all.

I doubt the DLC would get behind him for any other reason than to stab him in the back.

We still have elections. We still have primaries. Presidents are not royalty, and neither are Senators. They serve at our pleasure. Seriously.

Midwestern/Central Plains Dem Gov.
I am sure most on here would call her a DINO though.

6. I understand your frustration
but the bottom line is that there should be some accountability for what has gone on for the
last 6 years, I donate to the DNC, and the Democratic Legislative Committee and my local dems. But I sent Dr. Dean a snippy letter of the lax security procedures at the Demcoratic
Campaign Headquarters in Florida, they have to tighten security and cannot let the
Republicans steal another election.

So finally we take some action and let them know. You follow the needs of the progressive community or you get the eff out of the way. Simple. I can do that.

but I am in Maryland, but we need to let them know, they make generalizations, like they
saw the furror over the Ports Deal as a sign that Americans wanted the Patriot Act. NOT!
So that's why we have to keep telling them what we want.

after the spying shit.

But we need to consider especially in the Senate who will be in office and ouster the ones who voted for it so that they aren't around when it is up for a vote again.

7. Maybe I misunderstood, but isn't this why we have primaries????
Isn't it legit to try to replace current Dem office holders with other Dems we feel are more to our liking?

In keeping with your "logic", maybe we should do away with primaries and just support whichever Democrat is currently in office. That way, we can't say anything against incumbent Democrats! Heaven forbid anyone would want to change our party's candidates. The nerve!!!!

or better yet let the President appoint them, yeah, that's just what a democracy needs.

this is my attempt at sarcaasm, I agree that we can't judge on a single issue, but

Not to mention, that was just a political stunt today, positioning himself as the new Dean to run in 2008. He doesn't have any real values or he would never have supported Roberts. And where was he in 2001, why didn't he stand up for the CBC? And why didn't he stand up with Boxer in 2005? He's just a poseur.

16. I get your point!
I can't defend anyone, and i'm not trying to. But for me personally, i'm just fed up with all of it. Hell i live in Texas, the reddest of all red states. I don't even know why i bother to go vote, but i do.

People here at DU are political by nature, thats the reason i come here. And i'm tired of the way this country is being run, and i/we can't seem to do anything about it.

So i/we get frustrated and take it out on the person standing next to me/us, i've been around for awhile now and have never seen this country so torn apart. I just want my country back, and i want to make sure that the next person that gets elected will help put my country back on track. So please be patient, i promise i'll try and do the right thing.

30. Ha ha. Nice subtle sarcasm, Xultar.
Personally, there are a lot of things I can forgive in a "Democratic" politician.

Maybe they voted to confirm some creep Bush appointee to the SCOTUS. Maybe they voted for NAFTA, or Bush's unconscionable tax cuts for the rich.

I consider myself very flexible. But when someone votes for a murderous resolution to invade Iraq for NO REASON WHATSOEVER, even when EVERYBODY with an IQ over 40 knew that the case for WMD was a complete fraud - all the stories about cherry-picking and false intel were out there already, they have crossed a line.

I can forgive my neighbors, who only had the benefit of Orwellian corporate media for having supported the war in the beginning, but NOT US Senators and representatives, who are beholden to the constitution to CAREFULLY STUDY THE ISSUE before committing US troops to die on foreign soil. PERIOD.

And I sure as hell won't forgive them if they stood there grinning as Bush signed our troops' needless death warrant.
