It sounds like the folks in Texas aren't quite fed up yet :(

1. A lot of them didn't vote
because you can't sign a petition for a 3rd party candidate to get on the ballot if you vote in the primary.

4. I wouldn't vote for
Carole Keeton Rylander McClellan (fill in the blanks) Strayhorn if her life depended on it. I'm still pissed about the 40% of my electric bill that covers paying for the nuke she got us into as mayor of Austin. And she claimed to be a Democrat then.

7. And the first time we voted the nuke down she was quoted as saying
that the voters didn't know what they were doing. She's always been anti-democratic.

2. Only one of the election judges from 3 precincts voted. One said she
knew nothing about the candidates, that they had not campaigned enough so she didn'tknow who to vote for and the other said she was saving her vote for Kinky. That will give you an idea of what is going on in this crazy place.

5. We always have low turnout statewide
There were a few spots with hot local races that turned people out to vote, but we always rank near the bottom in turnout. The last stats I saw showed that Texas was 48th in the percentage of eligible persons who are even registered to vote and 49th in those who actually vote.

Texas is one of the prime examples of how apathy actually decides the election.

6. Actually this is good news!
Instead of saying they're not fed up enough yet, think of it the other way! They are sso fed up with these idiots, they just stayed home, and may well do the same thing in Nov!!!

Thom Hartment just said something on his show, that really made sense. If only 10% of the people showed up to vote yesterday, and DeLay got 65% of the vote, that means he only got 6%+ of the electorate to vote for him!
