In pictures: Anti-Bush rallies in India

There were minor scuffles between protesters and riot police in the city of Calcutta.

Security has been raised around a hotel in Delhi, where Mr Bush was due to stay during his three-day visit.

1. But those are just "focus groups" according to bushyboy, and he doesn't
give a red rat's ass about "focus groups."

Or anything else, really.

15. Why do Americans stay cowed?
WTF is missing? Fairness in media perhaps?
Even my fellow Democrats still think we need to remain respectful and civil. Our lone big outlet is Air America and some of the 'on air talent' like Rush and Hannity personally, or talk about "you liberals".

No wonder even Dems are now moderate Republicans in relation to the 70's political spectrum. Hell, many Senators are moderate Republicans in todays rightwing political spectrum. No wonder we sit silent and hope that *we* aren't the one getting interrogated be the fbi or sec service. We shut up and hope to remain under the radar. Hope that it's not *our* job outsourced next.

And still we sit silent. And continue to vote for politicians who vote against our best interests, whether there's a 'D' or an 'R' after their name.

12. Number 1 reason he has to speak in front of selected audiences.
This is not just personal preference I am convinced it is survival. A really sad commentary. Most of these people are just protesting and venting, however this is getting worse.

19. These are stunning, incredible, embarrassing photos.
People everywhere are SO pissed at Bush. How does he explain this? How on earth does Laura Bush live with these ugly facts? How can she get up in the morning, and look her husband in the face, when she knows the world is in turmoil, it's seething because of BUSH.

How does he carry on? I don't know how he can. He must wash this down with an awful lot of whiskey, because you know they've discussed it.

Is it getting worse? I think it is.

20. I agree with you.
These scenes . . . from all over the globe now, are of billions of human beings who LOATHE this monster and his regime.

How could he possibly face that fact without alcohol, or something else even stronger? If he is managing that, than he is the biggest sociopath ever.

As for Laura, damn. I'll bet she's got nothing but nightmares . . .

23. Ah, yes, Laura Bush...Our very own Eva Braun....
How she can sleep at night next to that creature, that sociopath that is loathed around the world for the destruction and death he has brought, is a question that will never be answered or understood....

25. You asked how does he explain why people are pissed...
Because he's an isolated, egotistical idiot. He thinks they "hate us for our freedom" or some other such b.s.
As for Laura, I don't know. Must be some good drugs.

26. Bush said that he felt very warmly received
I guess that was from all the burning effigies:

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/03/05/news/letter.php

"He felt very warmly received," said Andrew Card Jr., the White House chief of staff, who was on the lawn of Islamabad's presidential palace on Saturday morning.
