Don't Let Them Forget DARFUR! But watchout for NeoCon role.

NATO intervention my be a godsend, but article warns that NeoCon strategy may
be behind U.S. motives.

DARFUR: NATO PREPARES INTERVENTION

Moral Imperative or "Regime Change" Strategy?

by Wynde Priddy

After two years of violence in western Sudan, in late April the African Union (AU) moved to triple its peacekeeping troops in Darfur to 7,700--and asked NATO for logistical support. NATO agreed within hours of the request and discussions have already started. The United States encouraged NATO's involvement against French resistance. James Appathurai, NATO's chief spokesperson, told reporters the intervention would mark "the first time NATO would be engaged in any significant way in sub-Saharan Africa." If NATO goes in, it will be in defiance of the Sudanese government; leaders in Khartoum, Sudan's capital, insist that only African troops can be involved in the Darfur mission. But Appathurai told the press NATO and European Union (EU) diplomats are frustrated by the limited progress made by the AU.

1. The only way that the * cabal will help Darfur...
is if they can figure out a way to make a profit...

It makes me sick to say that!! They do not care....

3. Darfur needs to be stopped. How that happens - I do not care. If
neocons are forced to reinforce cause for war #1) humanitarian intervention, even when that is not the precedent they intended to set, so be it.

4. I agree....but the reality is
the neocons sat with their thumbs up their asses while Americans died in the Gulf Coast....

I just don't have any expectations for them to help an African country or it's people.

5. Because the genociders are men on horseback & camel - one

or two jets is all it would take to impose a lockdown on the country. You just turn the satellites on Darfur and the north. You pick up the movement, you bomb the hell out of the sand in front of the junja-bad-deeds, and they return home. The thing with genocide - is that there is never any threat to the people comitting the atrocities. Why it is genocide. Directed at civilians. You could use the same equipment to stop the rebels from attacking in areas that have not ever been theirs or from attacking any legitimate government sites.

Then - when nobody has any wiggle room to continue the "end game". They talk peace.
