Another WTF moment from MTP...Rep. King (R-fucking idiot, NY)
After denying that Bush* was wrong on WMD's, oil revenue paying for the war, the Iraqi's greeting us as liberators...the US needing only a small force to occupy TalibanIranIraqistan....

"We could not defeat radical islamist terrorism without a stable midle east and we couldn't have a stable middle east as long Saddam Hussein was in power"

Oh, well...it's all so clear to me now.

1. Our troops being thrown flowers was so telling
about Peter King.

Hussein was the only one who maintained peace among these very diverse factions.

He was secular. He was not a radical. He smoked, he drank, he had women in high ministry places. He kept the religious factions from slashing themselves to death on their religious holidays.

W believes in chaos deconstruction. He believes if we completely destroy the ME maybe we can rebuild it in what he deems acceptable. Not quite working that way.

His daddy told him to leave it alone.

2. I honestly think dimson didn't have a clue, nor did the
other involved neoconsters; what we're seeing can't be a good thing, even for them. Their pockets are lined; what more can they want? They'll be dead from old age before (they think) there's some bright hope for the future. :eyes:

and left our kids to pay the price. I check every day at www.icasualties.org to see the truth.

5. I am not for one second excusing or condoning their actions!
There is a lot of blood on their hands; our supposed leaders were clueless.

10. I have a feeling the men behind the Iraq invasion
knew all to well what was possible. I believe they correctly knew that there was a good possibility of an insurgency, but that it was worth it still to go in. All that mattered was the oil, and keeping it traded on the us dollar. They knew the American public wouldn't accept it upfront if they knew the entire costs, so they lied and spinned the truth. Now that were in, they know they can keep us there. They'll get what they want, the oil, and the general public will foot the bill in lives given and tax dollars squandered.

7. All true, and the biggie: BinLaden/Saddam - BULLSHIT, they hated each
other. Bin Laden declared war on Saddam, like 5 times or something.

How many terrorist bombings did you hear about in Iraq BEFORE we got there??

0

Because if Saddam caught any of those Al-Qaeda fucks, they'd be executed immediately

So we had to go in there to "stabilize" the middle east?

worked great.

13. Saddam was one of bin Laden's WORST enemies
Saddam was a secular leader of a predominantly Muslim country. And OBL hated infidels on Holy Muslim Land.

At least OBL has been consistent over the years.

all those torture chambers and rape rooms, and the murder of innocent iraqi men women and children...

all as a result of Bush's misbegotten clusterfuck to enrich his friends.

12. Exactly my thoughts, for YEARS now.
Saddam like to fake being a Muslim, but he was more secular than Bush ever was.
At least he kept the radical jihadists out of power.

It was like opening up a Pandora's box.

we wouldn't need the Middle East for energy.

9. How can anyone believe that a President
who promotes religious and civil division at home as a matter of domestic policy, is capable of unifying a nation of religious fanatics halfway around the world?

Oh the great Peter King, third district(or is it 5th) of New York.. The deep intellectual who in 2002 stated that he agrees with whatever Bush likes. What an upstanding citizen and a patriot.

16. The Foundation of a stable middle east rests on a
permanent solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Work that out forcing each side to make the hard choices and the US has a lot of moral high ground upon which to tackle the Iraq and Iran question. Instead, after going into Afghanistan and doing a half assed job, Bush just couldn't wait to put boots into the Iraq quagmire. In the meantime both Afghanistan/Bin Laden and Palestine situation suffered from gross neglect. Besides being responsible for virtually handing control of Iraq to Iran and all other manner of terrorist factions, Mr. Bush has further radicalized the middle east by ushering in the rise of the Islamic brotherhood in Egypt, providing Jihad University in Iraq complete with world class training facilities, and handing Hamas a victory in Palestine. Perhaps the only thing more unbelievable is Rice's comment on the fact we were caught by surprise at the Hamas victory. Note to Rice: Diebold if you want to guarantee a victory for your candidate...surely they know this by now!

18. I hope a viable candidate is running against him this year in order
to get his ass out of Congress. He also implied that NYers supported him because of 9/11. Bullshit. Most NYers were against our going to war in Iraq. Even the city council voted for a resolution against going to war.
