No one was at fault, they just have to be more diligent and improve on communications capability. But nothing else of note; move along! :eyes:

Edit to add I just heard this on CNN.

1. There's no excuse for what's going on in those areas NOW
let's pretend that they really are a bunch of bumbling fools who never turn on the TV. Tens of thousands of Katrina survivors are still living in squalor without water or electricity. Tent cities are what they call home in winter while thousands of unused FEMA trailers sink in the mud. BushCo has forgotten them.America has forgotten them. Even DU has forgotten them as everyone screams UAE PORT DEAL!!! UAE PORT DEAL!!!! No one seems capable of thinking of more than one issue at a time anymore, and there are people suffering greatly because of that. :-(

2. I agree, Lorien. Also, consider all of the
support the survivors may have gotten if there was an actual compassionate person running this country, never mind all the $$ going to Iraq. My heart really bleeds, and hurricane season '06 is right around the corner. Who's next to get a taste of this compassion? :(

3. The upcoming hurricane season is going to be a disaster.
With all the debris left uncollected, and the weakened buildings, and the trailers, if we have a strong hurricane season, it won't take much to bury New Orleans again.

4. Just imagine; with the kooky weather,
due in no small part to global warming (which I don't think is a fluke!), anyone on the coast, and not just the gulf coast, is going to be fair game. How do you 'evacuate' Long Island, NY? Where do the people go? We saw what a disaster emptying Houston was last year (and where I doubled my gray hairs). I too am very wary and frightened of any and all possibilities.

6. Hell, maybe I'll get a firsthand taste of it
I still haven't patched everything from the THREE hurricane hits I got in 2004, but I never suffered what Katrina's victims did. I'm praying that I can get this house ready for sale soon and get out of Florida this year. I fear that it's going to be an ugly season. :scared:
