Assuming they find against the guy, what are the odds of enforcing a US court's monetary award in Aruba?

7. I don't get the jurisdiction either. Nothing happened in NY, no defendant
lives there, etc. Doesn't sound like a basis for tort liability to me.

I question whether this will ever go to even the deposition stage. I'm not a lawyer, but I really can't see how a court in New York will pursue a civil case for something that happened on foreign soil (the only precedents I know of are the terrorism suits concerning PanAm 103, and I believe that took an act of Congress) but maybe they can pull it off.

the money they're after is probably from the book deals in the US, I would think.

10. I doubt they are after money because of greedy opportunism.
I think they are trying to find any way they can to get some answers.
