Was Cheney Hunting from a Car? And Does The Story Make Sense?

I have heard this and while it is against the law in most states I believe it is technically not against the law in Texas IF you are with property owner, which Cheney was I believe. Though it is for the lowest of hunters only, excepting parapalegics.

And this comment from Iowa hunter on blog:
"The news reports say that after Whittington (left) had gotten off his shot and went looking for his bird, Cheney and the other hunter went to another spot where they saw a covey of quail. Texas quail might be different from Iowa quail, but in Iowa when a shotgun goes off, every quail within earshot flutters away. The story doesn't make sense."

2. Every bit of it sounds like bullshit to me . . .

The whole idea of shooting a bird with clipped wings . . . well only a sociopath could possibly understand THAT.

The whole thing stinks to high heaven. As I have said too many times, I think he was soused. He has a long history of drinking too much. He has several DUI's.

Hope he's really pleased with himself.

4. The way I understand it, the ranch runs canned hunts, releasing

the birds near the road, so Cheney and his entourage, secret service, ambulance, et al, drive up to the release point, walk a few yards then start shooting.

So it's not quite like shootiing from the car, spotlighting deer or whatever, but still hardly real sport hunting.
