Anyone who thinks the BFEE is going to allow Brownie to rat out The Chimp is delusional. BushCo has a number of options, from simply crying "privilege," which while probably not legally relevent, would delay the proceedings while legal opinions are sought. Another likely scenerio is another attack or "scare" of some sort. Of course it will be obvious, of course KO will make fun of it and point it out, but THEY DON'T CARE. They know they have no cred, they don't need it...they only need to stop Brownie from testifying. Brownie's limo could burst into flames on the way to the hearings. Again, of course everyone will immediately blame Bush, but again, THEY DON'T CARE. They have effectively put a lid on every damning story to come out against them. We all know he's a criminal, but so what? If the press isn't reporting it, Middle America doesn't know about it. All one has to do is look back at every other "scandal" we were certain would bring down Bush. Nothing touches him, and it's not because he has Reagan-esque Teflon charm. It's because his administration is run by a very "influential" band of thugs.

The story tomorrow will be big, but I'd bet it won't include Brownie at the hearings.

4. Interesting comment you make about the limo...

We were watching Olbermann and this story came up, and after we both sat up, mouths agape, and hollered "WHOA!!" a couple of times - I turned to my husband and said "I hope he (Brownie) has armed guards."

I hope he doesn't wind up Wellstoned before he can testify. Then again, perhaps he was such a dweeb so far down the food chain that what he "knows" isn't worth all that much. Even so, the hubbub that it's generating so far is worth it. ANYTHING that further tarnishes the Armor of Invincibility, gets 'em talking, gets gossip and rumors started - ALL of it takes another few microbes off the finish. And a few more. And a few more. Corrosion sets in. Eventually there are large, gaping, raw holes where once you saw only seamless, gleaming metal. ANY bad news for/about them is good news fpr all the rest of us.

BTW - I hope my suspicions are unfounded. I do NOT want to see anybody come to bodily harm. Nor do I want to see any of the bad guys turned inadvertently into some martyr.
