during his speech? He seems to be really horrible with names. Did anyone catch it? I never saw the funeral or any transcripts of it.

1. I was wondering, since I missed it too
Did he get any applause? If so I'm sure it was only out of politeness, not respect and I'll bet it wasn't with every syllable like in his state of the union speeches.

2. He tends not to speak people's names, I've noticed.
During the debates, for example, it's as though he forgot John Kerry's name and constantly called him "my opponent". Creepy.

3. He called her Coretta at least once and Mrs. King a few times
and mentioned Mrs. Parks too. Seems to be the only black women he knows about. (except his other wife, Condi, of course)

6. LOL! Oh, good.
I was beginning to get a little worried there, you know, that old nagging feeling that the "president" may in fact be a little "slow".

9. Look for the bulge in the back of his jacket then...
...because he must have been wearing a wire again.

4. I think the right is jettisoning their "we like non-whites now" tactic
They have the power they need, and do not need to pretend to like non-whites now. They have their tokens non-white officials in position, they have feigned enough interest in issues that affect non-whites. They have cunningly placed their wedge issues to drive apart the non-white sector of the democratic party's base. Their test case in NOLA proved to them that they do not have to pretend to like non-whites So now that they own the government, why waste time kissing ass any further? Oh sure, invite a few Uncle Toms over to the White House now and then for a little photo-op. But why keep greasing palms?

11. Right, and by the same token, those ludicrous shots
of him smirking thru the funeral probably won't keep him awake at night.

12. Certainly not. I don't think that sociopaths feel emotions for others
And the Puke party is full and running over of sociopaths, with Dubya right on top of the heap. I guess is comes genetically through Babs. While his daddy at least pretends to play nice with the Big Dog, she talks about the contemplation of soldiers' deaths as a potential drain on her "beautiful mind."

17. Oh GOD- Those words Babs says about her "beautiful mind"
make me want to go take a shower.

With a sandblaster.

5. He didn't want to take any chances, speaking inside a church.

He didn't want to stretch his luck with going too far on hypocrisy and blasphemy. You know. The lightning bolt thing?

10. Which leads me to my theory that the Katrina victims didn't get help
sooner because the Bushies were too busy chasing down this Hurricane "Corrina".

15. Naw, leaving us to die in New Orleans was a plan they had before the
storm even hit.

16. Swamp Rat, you're the best.
First, I totally agree with you. Those bastards in the White House were WILLFULLY negligent, which in my mind makes them murderers (*OOPS*, you know, "second-degree" murderers.) And from everything I hear and read, they couldn't care less about helping at this point, because they've all but forgotten. My heart goes out to ya, Swamp Rat.

For the record, I was sort of playing on the utter stupidity of the Bushes not being able to get names, or anything for that matter, right.

:hi:
