out in front in a national election for a very short time. It would be so funny to watch how they respond when they're in "the big leagues". They would get eaten alive so fast! As bad as it sounds it would be funny. Let's see how they would deal with the press smearing them, being a target of Karl Rove, maybe a 527 being organized against them and so forth. Let's not forget Tweety complaining about their clothes.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

But I think we could rock the system with Dems and Repubs in the House and Senate...and an Independent President.

14. Our current government
is set up to accommodate a two-party system, not a coalition government. In my opinion, the Big Two (which are really the Big One, name cooperations) would _never_ allow a third party, much less a fourth or fifth, to gain any momentum. So, essentially, you and I agree.

25. In my area there are some races where affliation is not listed.
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

36. Depends on the office
City councils, school boards, stuff like that, it's not required, and in most cases discouraged.

A rival newspaper once printed the affiliations of a couple of council candidates and got slammed for it.

48. I would love to see a serious *RW* third party
Picture it: The Constitution Party nominates Judge Roy Moore in 2008, and he diverts enough votes from fundies and paleocons that Russ Feingold gets elected with 48% of the vote.

Yeah, I know, I'm dreaming. Only on the left do you find such self-defeating stupidity.
