The U.S. needs to be more reality based

We started a war in Iraq, based on what research told us "might" happen. A lot of people believe that we cannot just get out of Iraq, based on what research tells us "might" happen. We can't base our country and put our military at risk, and live our lives like this.

REALITY: Innocent Iraqis are being killed
REALITY: There IS a civil war in Iraq
REALITY: Just because we broke it, doesn't mean we can fix it.
REALITY: We ARE causing harm.

3. Really, it's starting to make me crazy

We are doing way too much based on our own imagination of what "might" happen if we do not. We are fighting them over there, so that we don't have to fight them over here. BS. Why do we think they'd be over here if they weren't over there? Imagination. If we get out now, the Arab countries, Israel, China and Russia will start WWIII over the region (I just read this in a very long thread, which included the line "we all know this"). How do we know this? Imagination.

Well our imaginations have proven over and over again to be wrong. The war wasn't short, we weren't greeted as liberators, democracy has not started popping up like mushrooms all over the middle east. Wasn't that the scenario we were told?

Pure, unadulterated, imagination.

the death and devastation in Nam... That is the real world and that is what needs to be shown.. I don't like it, but that is the point, is it not, to change the way the US is looking at this war? To show the horrors...
