I first interviewed the guy in 1987 and began covering his political rise in 1993, and I have never seen him, in public or private, look less convincing, less sure of himself, less cocky. With his knitted brow and stricken features, he looked, well, scared. Not surprising since what he was doing in the White House library was announcing the escalation of an unpopular war.

2. He was also doing his oh so subtle hype on Iran and Syria

He's cooked as far as Iraq goes. But his threats about Iran and Syria are more than unsettling. I heard "nucular" at least twice and he announced he's enhanced military support already by putting a navy vessel at a strategic point.

If the Iran adventure occurs, he no doubt IS scared shitless...because Iraq already stated that it would side with IRAN if the US begins attacks on Iran.
