Hmmmm....

http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20070105/olbermann-internet-buzz/

The Democrats may have wrested back control of power in Congress, but that hasn’t quieted the ire of American cable news broadcaster Keith Olbermann. The 47-year-old is known for his Special Commentary segments on MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann,” where he regularly tears apart US President George W. Bush.

Olbermann’s outspoken political views have also made him a hero/villain in the blogosphere. Olbermann’s show is a frequent topic of debate on both conservative and liberal political blogs and his “Special Commentary” segments are all over digital video websites like YouTube. It seems like every time Olbermann opens his mouth people sit down at their computers and start typing. Does Olbermann = Internet buzz?

The promotional executives at NBC must think so. They are taking advantage of all the attention Olbermann is getting online. Last week MSNBC ran a very ballsy blogad campaign with this Olbermann quote:

“The President of the United States owes this country an apology.”

The blogad campaign also featured an Olbermann desktop widget that pulls headlines from the shows RSS feed every 30 minutes. Even the biggest Olbermann junkie doesn’t need more Keith than that, right?

With all this hype on the Internet, you are probably wondering how Olbermann’s TV ratings are doing. Olbermann’s fast-paced melange of politics and pop culture has made “Countdown With Keith Olbermann” MSNBC’s top-rated show. Not bad for a former anchor of ESPN’s Sportscenter. Maybe Craig Kilborn should take some notes. His performance in Bench Warmers wasn’t exactly Oscar worthy.

1. Keith and Craig-ers used to be a team at ESPN, right?
Craig really crashed and burned on late night!

2. Are you listening, Bill-O?
Of course he is. The Big Giant Head is literally exploding right and left ... probably green with envy as Keith's ratings rise and his own plummet.

3. Olbermann fan
I am an Olbermann groupie! I watch his show, read every word I can find, watch the videos of his Special Comments and send them to others. I have done my part to enlarge his circle of admirers. Once people hear him on those comments, they are hooked.

I have one bumper sticker only:
"Thank You, Keith Olbermann"

No need to worry about being "keyed" for that one because I'm probably the only person in my area who even knows who he is!

He is one gutsy journalist;reminds me of Edward R. Murrow.

10. You've got that right!
For a while the only place I could find "news" was on my computer, and even then I felt short-changed. Once Olbermann "took off" with his fight back attitude I was back to my TV. For a while he had been sitting on the fence from what I could tell. I don't know what lit his fire, but I am so glad he risked his career to "speak truth to power."

13. That in part is what defines his courage... and what is so needed
in these times ...someone willing to risk their careers for the truth.

depraved times.

9. A desktop widget gives you a direct link to the latest KO stuff MSNBC has put online.
I have it. When I connect to the Internets, it automatically searches MSNBC's Countdown Web site and updates a list of news clips available on the site.

If nothing else, it's a nice way to keep Keith permanently on your desktop.

I invite anyone else who loves Keith to join the troops of the Keith Olbermann Estrogen Brigade in DU Groups. We have a live blog of the show and also of other times when Keith is on TV.
