Notes to New Congress on Corporate Power & Antitrust
One of the unsightly messes the new Congress will have to deal with is Antitrust, the body of laws intended to prohibit unfair business practices and restrain corporate power.

In my day job, I write about Antitrust matters for a magazine.

Here's an article I wrote, a Glossary for the new Congress, suggesting what it needs to do about Antitrust. It was a little too outspoken for my editors. (I uploaded it to DU over the holiday; it disappeared without a trace. <SIGH> Here it is again.)

Also, here's another article on Antitrust addressed to the 110th Congress. It's written by Bert Foer, of the American Antitrust Institute. I've found Foer to be a reliable and progessive commentator on these matters.

1. Antitrust a Sword still in its Sheath
Your articles are great -- thanks -- but would/will Chimpie EVER sign such a thing as antitrust reform? Not unless it included, uh, a provision repealing it.

THIS issue, more than any other, will determine the quality of life for Working Class America for the next 50 years!

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
