Don't know how KO managed to sit there with Tweety and Mitchell while
the Ford Funeral Service has ended and trash Nancy Pelosi making jokes about "Balmer" (Baltimore, where she grew up) and likening her father to a Political boss who collected "favors." Even mentioning that Pelosi has a photograph of her as a child with Jack Kennedy just like Bill Clinton did and that Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder will be joinging her "festivities" but that "won't be a coverup for the Democrats needing a plan for Iraq."

Ford isn't even in his grave and they break the solemnity with a Trash of Dems and Pelosi.

Tweety also mentioned his own "drinking problem" very plainly when talking about Betty Ford. I wonder if he was in "rehab" rather than in the hospital for diabetes problems after that revelation.

1. I don't see anything wrong with most of those "trash" statements you posted.

3. I didn't convey the "sneering tone" concerning the Democrats who they
said will be "forced" to come up with a plan for Iraq instead of covering things up with festivities and the "100 Day Plan."

It was pretty bad.... Even going after Carter for being a "loner" who didn't speak to the press on the AF-1 according to Tweety who flew with him.

4. That's the only statement that could be construed as bad. Carter was somewhat
of a loner — he wasn't the usual glad-handing Beltway type.

6. I had to switch to CNN. Honestly, Chris has become a snarly-type
commentator. I used to look forward to seeing him but no more. Keith is such a professional and is doing all of the commentary with Andrea now. It's much better. Chris sounded miffed that Carter didn't bring up Iraq, etc. He's becoming looney.

7. I'm offended by the revisionism
Just one example: the repetition that Ford was a "healer"; that he "helped the nation get past the partisan bitterness in the wake of Watergate" (Mitchell, some minutes ago).

Wrong. As the House minority leader, Ford advocated for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice William O Douglas in 1970, which hardly qualifies him as a 'healer'. Ford's primary political ambition always was to be Speaker, which through history has never been the spot for a 'champion of bipartisanship'.

And it wasn't "partisan bitterness" that divided the nation in the "wake of Watergate", it was impeachable offenses.
