WH says no terror threats for New Year's (No, I'm not kidding)

WASHINGTON - Americans should ring in the new year without undue worry about a terrorist attack, the White House homeland security adviser said Thursday.

"People ought to come, have a good time, they ought to feel confident," Frances Fragos Townsend said in a nationally broadcast television interview.

Townsend said that while the Bush administration takes every threat seriously, it has heard of no plot or plan that should cause alarm as the nation celebrates New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

"We hear statements all the time" from the al-Qaida terrorist network, among others, she said on ABC's "Good Morning America." But Townsend added that "rarely are they attached to actions."

First they hype false terror warning for ratings and publicity, exploiting the level of fear in Americans until they've become numb to their "warnings." Now it appears they're trying a slightly new approach by showing Americas that there's no "warning" because they're 'doing a heck of a job'.

These are strange days.

o, really! i think they mean: :the bush administration is not issuing any plots or plans YET to ensure that the bushit boy stays in the oval office beyond the time appointed to him by the stealing of his second sit-in at the oval office.

17. How can anyone ever trust them?
All they've done is lie and manipulate to achieve their goals. That's not exactly conducive of trust.

I'm still at a loss as to why they felt it was necessary to make this announcement. Does this mean we can now look forward to negative terror alerts in the future. Next they'll have to create a whole new color system to depict the levels of negative risk.

18.  Is this a warning in code or ?
A way to keep the stores going ? If it's a warning they can at least say they tried just after a huge mall blows up or a city . This is how they will spin this . I am staying home so I can be vaporized with my wife .
