Where's Katie? News not big enough?
Apparently the death of an american President is not big
enough news to bring Katie Couric to the newsroom from her
holiday? vacation? time-off? whatever. Can you imagine Dan
Rather NOT doing CBS Evening News tonight?

1. Katie's ratings are so bad, does it even matter? Spare the few that happen
to watch her sniveling and sad "hi everyone" program opening!

2. That's pathetic
Remember the full court press over the Pope last year? There were more anchors in Rome than hotel rooms.
And usually the death of a member of the " presidential club" gets a Rather, Brokaw or Jennings off their ass since it's such a small group. Interesting Katie doesn't want to follow in the shoes of the anchors who came before her.

5. Why bother? The funeral will go on without her.
Sitting on the desk and showing her legs is NOT appropriate for a wake.

7. Poor excuse...
...news can be anchored from Europe, it's done all the time.
Gerald Ford's death is news TONIGHT. What is expected of a
network's top newsperson? To share significant events with
it's viewers IMO. What does a mega-million dollar contract
buy? Vacations?

8. Aaron BROWN (eventually) lost his job because he refused to come back
for SOME "big" story. Soon after he was first hired. He was on the golf course. I forget what the story was.

I never "got" how Anderson COOPER could knock off an anchor.
