The hidden casualties of Bush's war -- death here at home
Edited on Wed Dec-27-06 08:56 AM by theHandpuppet
Heard this report on the NBC4 broadcast (Washington, D.C.) this morning and could not let this death pass as a footnote. These are the Iraq war casualties you will never see in the "official" count.

Barricade Ends With Army Reservist's Death
Soldier Upset By Call Back To Duty

LEONARDTOWN, Md. -- An Army reservist just called up to serve in Iraq was fatally shot by police Tuesday after a standoff that began Christmas night.

James Emerick Dean, 28, was shot by a St. Mary's County sheriff's deputy when he pointed a gun at a tactical team that was about to use gas to try to force Dean out of his father's house on Dusty Road in Leonardtown, Sheriff Tim Cameron said.

Dean's family contacted police Monday night, saying he was armed and threatening to kill himself, the sheriff said. Dean later told police he would shoot anyone who entered the house.

Dean, who had ranger training, was despondent about several things, including recent orders for him to go to Iraq, the family told authorities. Dean had returned in 2005 from a year-and-a-half-long tour in Iraq.... MORE

RIP, soldier. :(

Two years of "investigations" into Bush's criminal behavior is not good enough for me, not when each day resonates with the cries of the dead and dying. Impeach NOW and send this war criminal and his cohorts packing!!!!!!

1. The casualties will mount long after we've left Iraqi soil.
War itself is a bullet in the head for many of the survivors.

3. I wonder if...
more are killing themselves and going over the edge with the new deployment than ever before.
I know they are sending the kids who are diagnosed with depression and pts back to the war. It's disgusting what is happening. All in the name of Bush.
