5. It's a genetic condition. The vessels in the brain are not formed correctly. Here's an explanation:

4. Wow.
Those talented evil Republicans can give someone a congenital arteriovenous malformation?

:sarcasm:

Here's to a quick recovery for Senator Johnson.

15. I never do
I always check under the bed each night to make sure KKKarl or some other member of the BFEE ain't there. Some may call it paranoia: I call it just plain ol' common sense.

16. I must admit that the
thought crossed my mind. I mean, how convenient for the criminal government to have a Dem Senator go down in a red state with a Repug Govenor and therefore shift the balance of power?

Just a little bit too convenient....you, know, like Wellstone the last time around? :tinfoilhat:

17. I have some suspicions about what happened to Wellstone, too.
But that was a plane crash; easier to engineer. When someone becomes disoriented in the middle of speaking, it's often due to some kind of constricted bloodflow in the brain.

Believe me, I don't trust the Rethugs, but there are limits to their power.

19. That's true.
But it does seem a little strange that it's DEMOCRATS who get struck down when the power of the Senate is in the balance.

I haven't forgotten that Paul Coverdale, a Repug Senator from Georgia, did die suddenly from a stroke - I think - and the Democratic Governor of Georgia replaced him with a Democrat who turned out to be an absolute traitor to his party: Zell Miller. But the Senate did not hang in the balance on his death.

24. Let's not forget a dead Mel Carnahan beating John Ashcroft...

for the Senate spot in 2000 when the Senate was close too, after Carnahan died in a plane crash too close to the election. The Rethugs didn't get the outcome in that case that they wanted. Supposedly Ashcroft was ahead in the polls when Carnahan was still alive too.

11. Definition AV Malformation:
A-V MALFORMATION - A hemangioma, or arteriovenous malformation is a tangle of abnormal vessels that forms an abnormal communication between the arterial and venous systems. Most are developmental (congenital). If large enough, they may produce a shunt of sufficient magnitude to raise the cardiac output. AVM's may occur in the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord, where they may cause headaches, seizures, or bleeding (subarachnoid hemorrhage).

14. Good news. I have a friend from high school who is dealing with the same thing right now.
She was recently diagnosed with this after suffering from very bad headaches. Just yesterday her husband took her to the emergency room, and then then moved her to another hospital. She'll have to have surgery soon, just waiting to hear when. Hopefully it will be soon and she'll have a good recovery.
