HERE'S YOUR BIG BREAK! I need a phone guest on my PBS audio show on Friday, Dec. 15th!
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 07:32 PM by Radio_Lady

I record my program every Friday beginning at 8 AM Pacific Time (PLEASE ADJUST FOR YOUR TIME ZONE.) I can also start at 9 AM Pacific Time if that's better for you.

Simply put, YOU ARE THE STAR!! I will call you at a telephone number that you give me (no cellphones, please!) a few minutes before the top of the hour and we'll just do it.

I didn't book a guest for Friday 12/15. We were supposed to be on vacation, but we had to cancel due to my husband's illness. So, this is your big chance! Please don't leave me talking to myself!

If you are chosen, you can talk about anything you want, except sports! You and I will record the program for about 20 - 30 minutes at your discretion. There are no breaks or call-ins. The program be aired on Monday afternoon at 1 PM on Oregon Public Broadcasting's "Golden Hours." I'll give you complete information in case you want to listen on your computer or record the show.

So, as a first step, I'm asking you to PM me with some brief information on your subject and what you would like to discuss. I WILL TRY TO RESPOND TO EVERYONE but please be understanding. I have no idea how popular this idea will be!

Maybe you want to spout off on politics and need a soapbox, or have some fascinating document you'd like to read. If you've written poetry or prose and want to read it or promote it on the air -- or you have a website -- whatever. We can discuss any of dozens of topics! Don't be afraid -- I'm a really good interviewer and will make you feel quite comfortable.

I'm going to try and choose somebody as soon as possible, because it's so late. So be quick and be brief.

Waiting for your PM suggestions through this evening.

In peace,

Radio_Lady in Oregon

PS. The right column of my journal page has more information on my program.

1. Kicked on busy news day! Please be patient as I read your PMs. Thanks for responding.
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 07:42 PM by Radio_Lady
It might take me a few hours and even into tomorrow morning to check out your responses.

Everyone who jumped on the bandwagon quickly, thanks! You are all possible guests! I might decide to do this once or twice more...

For your information, we have an estimated available audience of 80,000 to 100,000 listeners in Oregon and southern Washington state (This includes primarily Vancouver, Washington.) We are streamed 24/7 on the Internet and your interview would be heard on Monday, December 18. It could also be played several more times for up to a year when I am on frequent travel.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

7. I'd have to ask them to PM me... everyone is so busy and so am I.

I have spoken to Elad by telephone about software problems -- and once telephoned Skinner at the Washington D.C. area number listed at "Who Is" (that was about two years ago), but never heard back. Certainly, I would like to speak to anyone who is ready, willing and able to discuss the DU.

I talk about the DU all the time -- anyway!

8. I will ponder it and PM you later, I have called into a lot of local shows before
but never been a guest on one. Will mull over some ideas and if one gets me going I will PM you - and decided to post here so I could kick instead of this being a pm :)

9. Brad of BradBlog just asked for media on his ES&S/Hursti story...
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 08:06 PM by Junkdrawer
...

Several national Election Integrity individuals and watchdog organization VelvetRevolution.us (VR) have staked $1000 on the bet and have helped to facilitate the participation of Hursti. None of the press coverage dealt with that point. (DISCLOSURE: The BRAD BLOG is a co-founder of VelvetRevolution.us and would be more than willing to discuss that aspect with any such media, if they wish. We can be reached here: ([email protected]).)

12. Not familiar with this subject so would have to research it more.
Right now, I'm cleaning up from dinner :-) and writing holiday cards.

Just the little mundane stuff of the season!

Thanks for your post.

14. THURSDAY MORNING UPDATE: WEATHER IS DETERIORATING.
Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 10:50 AM by Radio_Lady
IT'S BEEN POURING HERE FOR HOURS. HURRICANE STRENGTH WINDS AND POWER OUTAGES EXPECTED ON THE COAST AND EVEN STRONG WINDS IN THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY WHERE I LIVE.

We might be in worse shape tomorrow morning.

I might have to run a pre-recorded radio program Monday if I can't safely drive twelve miles to get to the radio station tomorrow (Friday).

I will be contacting all of you kind people by PM during the day Thursday. Thanks so much for all your responses.

In peace (and trying to stay dry),

Radio Lady in Oregon

PS. I'm going to ask the moderators to lock this thread due to the changed weather situation. Once again, I appreciate everyone who took the time to respond.
