It turns out that the Contra-Cocaine thing is TRUE

4. K&R
Ollie North always scared the hell out of me, even moreso than Gordon Liddy. Liddy was always small-time and batshit crazy, a transparent tool of the smart people. Not so Ollie, who puts up such a slick front. He is such a cool, self-righteous goddam psychopath.

6. I think his security goons even rushed some woman who asked him about it
He was speaking at a church in California. One woman stood up and asked him about his drug-running operation. He said something snarky like, "I'll be happy to answer your questions after my presenation, if that's okay with you." That was the cue for his hired muscle to descend upon the poor woman and haul her out of the church like a sack of potatoes.

45. Webb's report came out in 96 - Clinton WH covered it up for Poppy Bush and was
actually still letting his CIA operation still continue while they looked the other way, and sicced the rest of the press on Webb who was treated as a nutcase. A Pulitzer Prize winning reporter was sliced and diced publically with Clinton WH aiding and abetting the takedown of Webb.

Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 12:51 AM by higher class
Poindexter, Sr., Reagan, Liddy, Eliot and all the other operatives then and compare them to the arrogance of the PNAC boys - a person has to ask where the arrogance and confidence comes from. What ever gave them the authority to flaunt their crimes to openly and blatantly?

It scares me to think why they feel they can strut their stuff like they do.

They know something we don't and I believe it is that our souls may be owned by them more than we realize. And it must mean, that their baron heads have instilled that confidence in them.

They never seemed to mind that they got caught and I don't think PNAC cares that they have destroyed Iraqis.our kids, our credit, our standing, our futures.

They don't seem to care to be known as criminals.

11. It's still happening
That phony flight school Atta was attending smelled strongly of a CIA drug importation operation. The speed with which it closed up and the total disappearance of most of the people involved is beyond suspicious, as is Jebbie's confiscation of their records, paperwork that simply vanished once Jeb's goons had hauled it away.

This is one of the areas that has me donning a tinfoil beanie. There are just too many unanswered questions, to many disappeared people, and too much vanished paperwork.

I don't have any answers for any of it, but I do have a whole lot of questions.

34. I don't know how anyone can read the
Dan Hopsicker site at Madcowmorning news and not get the willys. If he knows so much about these weird connections how can the law enforcement people not know about it also? Unless they are willfully ignorant?

The same people keep turning up year after year in criminal activities linked to intelligence agency activities. Why none of this ever gets any real attention from the government is a mystery unless one is prepared to believe the worst case scenario conspiracy theory.

19. and here's a part from the "South Front Contras" section
that reminds us that there's potentially a lot more agencies than the CIA (or parts of it) that https://www.cia.gov/cia/reports/cocaine/south.html">use the drug trade:

...
Moises Nunez

# Background. During the 1980s, Cuban-American Moises Nunez was affiliated--either as an owner or a senior manager--with three seafood companies: Productos Del Atlantico in Limon, Costa Rica; Ocean Hunter/Mr. Shrimp in Miami; and Frigorificos De Puntarenas in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Frigorificos was among the companies that were used by the Department of State in the mid-1980s to channel humanitarian aid to the Contras. In the mid-1980s, Nunez was also a narcotics officer with the Government of Costa Rica.

# Allegations of Drug Trafficking. According to a November 10, 1986 DEA Investigation Report, the DEA office in Costa Rica had, over two or three years, "received information from various sources regarding Nunez' alleged involvement in cocaine smuggling through Frigorificos De Puntarenas." The DEA Report noted that Nunez had entered the United States from Costa Rica in late 1985 in the company of a documented money launderer and that Nunez' name had been found among the personal papers of an individual arrested in connection with the seizure of cocaine.

...

# On March 25, 1987, CIA questioned Nunez about narcotics trafficking allegations against him. Nunez revealed that since 1985, he had engaged in a clandestine relationship with the National Security Council (NSC). Nunez refused to elaborate on the nature of these actions, but indicated it was difficult to answer questions relating to his involvement in narcotics trafficking because of the specific tasks he had performed at the direction of the NSC. Nunez refused to identify the NSC officials with whom he had been involved.

# Headquarters cabled in April 1987 that a decision had been made to "debrief" Nunez regarding the revelations he had made. The next day however, a Headquarters cable stated that "Headquarters has decided against . . . debriefing Nunez." The cable offered no explanation for the decision.

# Then-CATF Compliance Officer and Policy and Plans Chief Louis Dupart does not recall why the decision was made not to send anyone to debrief Nunez. He says, however, that the Agency position was not to get involved in this matter, and to turn it over to others because "it had nothing to do with the Agency, but with the National Security Council. We. . . . told Congress and Walsh. That's all we had to do. It was someone else's problem."
...

what a mess.

18. that's something I hadn't thought of...
...I had interpreted it as the CIA's leaders using the media frenzy to buy time and put some news "freshness" distance between the release of this report and its discussion in the media because there's a lot of somewhat damning admissions in that report when it's parsed. But that would be pretty interesting if it was also quiet signal to the GOP since it had to be released at some point and the timing could have sent a message.

46. Suicide by two shots to the face...
Yeah... that doesn't raise any red flags.

On December 10, 2004, he was found dead from two gunshot wounds to the head. Sacramento County coroner Robert Lyons determined that it was suicide. Webb's ex-wife, Sue Bell, said that Webb had been depressed for some time over his inability to get a job at another major newspaper. <8> Despite Webb's death being recorded as a suicide by the coroner, there is still controversy as to whether it was a suicide or assassination. Many have pointed to the fact that Webb was shot not once, but twice to the face, which is extremely odd in cases of suicide. At the time leading up to his death, Webb was reported as to be working on another piece, and had mentioned to friends that he was under surveillance and constantly being tailed, had been receiving death threats, and had his house broken into. On one occasion, Webb confronted two men he described as 'government people' that were scaling the pipes on the side of his house; subsequently, the men took off running.
