I totally disagree with the woman on Larry King who wants her son to
stay in Iraq. She said that just because mistakes have been made and just because you don't do something well doesnt mean you shouldn't take on the job (paraphrasing).

My dad always told me that if you are not going to do a well, don't dot it at all.

2. Gad, what a thing to say! I missed that, as I just turned LK on.
Why should her son stay in Iraq? I understand the sentiment of wanting your kids to do a good job, but this war was wrong from the get-go, and for this woman to insist that her son stay in a losing cause mystifies me.

3. It would be one thing if it were her son's mistake....but this is not
about her son making a mistake...it's about his leadership that has made the biggest wartime blunder in the history of the world.....her son like all soldiers should be pulled out withen the next six months....

Do we sacrifice our military force (which we will need in future conflicts) for a failed experiment by the * cabal? I say no...

4. I feel for her...
I feel for anyone who has a loved one in Iraq. How people cope with that kind of uncertainty is I'm sure individual, and whatever gets one through the night is fine by me. It is not she who is the problem it is he...Larry King...for using someone's situation to progress another agenda. But...that's media.

5. How do we even know this woman is for real?
Is she who she claims to be?

Does she really have a son in Iraq?

Or is she some RW, Bush-worshipping apologist nut who will pretend, lie, and say anything to prop up her tinpot dictator/god?

6. She should have her head examined
She honestly needs serious therapy. Who would want their loved one in a hostile, violent, out of control war zone where their lives are at risk? She's nuts! I wouldn't wish Iraq on my worse enemy, with the exception of the war criminals that started it - they should all be setting up shop over there.

7. because she finds validation in her life through her son
and enjoys the attention she gets when she tells people that he's in Iraq. I can't imagine a mother that wouldn't want her son out of harm's way.

8. People grasp at straws trying not to admit this whole sorry mess was a blunder
because, after all, they've been through hell worrying about their kid every single second of every day.

9. I think that is close to truth.
And no one will say their kid would die for a wrong ideal. No one.

11. Agreed, Joe. It would be too much to bear, on top of losing a child
Even if that child is an adult, who voluntarily joined the military. That does not make Bush's war right, but I get what you are saying. I do hope this young man comes home safely, along with every other person over there.

12. I have seen so many kids - 18 and all that - go now to war -
I pray for every one of those kids. I am actually pretty christian - I do believe in Jesus and all that. I am the "christian left" - and I like that verbage.

Seattle - look my kid did two tours in Mosul and is in Baghdad right now. And I understand war - in a sick way. And I understand - there is no 20 year old alive that does not cry for his mother or father when he is hurt - belive me, I KNOW. From experience.

This has to end now.

Joe

17. Yes, it has to end now.
We have to get out of there before another drop of blood is shed, either by the Americans or by anyone else.

Your son has been on my mind, Joe. I continue to pray for his safety.

People hear these terrible conditions, and want our troops back in the states, now.

23. I hope you are right.
The truth is - they should have known - they should have been informed - we had a RIGHT to know.

It is most certainly true that this president got us into this mess - he did. But where exactly was our press in all this. They had a responsibility to us and they so failed us.

A lot of kids died now, more will die too. WHY - because our press corps consisted of "Judith Millers" or even worse - aren't they partly responsible for NOT doing their job??

I think B*sh has blood on his hand here - I think the "media" does too.

Joe
