We tread on dangerous ground...Bush is a cornered rat
I'm not all that excited by all these people finally asking questions about Bush's extra-constitutional behavior. The stakes are higher than ever for them. Loss of the Congress would mean near-certain impeachment, or at the very least, censure and a total blockade on his help-the-rich-and-defense-contractor agenda, and an increased likelihood that the cloak of secrecy he's invoked on his administration will be revealed, and along with it, the criminality. They've invested -- don't think of it as anything else -- billions into this little globetrotting/presidential powers gauntlet they've laid down, and I can't imagine they'll walk away with a mere "harumph." These guys are fucking evil personified. The pressure is on to do an even better job of stealing '06 lest the entire house of cards come crashing down on them.

Keep the pressure on, but keep an eye on the reality of it all...this is not a normal man. There is a wiring problem, and most of us will be dead before it is written about in the history books, but mark my words, George W. Bush is not right. BushCo knows America is at least suspicious enough that another fake attack will not work as they had originally hoped. So they'll pull the fake troop withdrawal shit, maybe give free kittens to all Americans (pit bull puppies to Republicans), and lie like a son of a bitch to keep their agenda on track.

It could be bloody. It could be all on paper and at the podium. But anyone thinking BushCo is going to shutter its operations and skulk away quietly hasn't been paying attention for the past five years!

2. Look at the world outside the US.
That's far worse. China and Russia, but Bush's own stated standards, from 2001, make them premeditated supporters of terrorists.

3. knew Bush was bonkers by looking in his eyes on TV during
...his debates with Gore.

How could everyone else not see this?, I wondered then. And still do.

at least DU knows the Emperor not only has no clothes, but is starkers...

7. well, *we* noticed...
He had no command of the facts, and he had that rapid-fire blinking thing going on. It looked like he was about to snap. I heard exactly *one* pundit on one of the networks say he performed horribly. The next day the media just glowed with praise for w's stellar debating skills.... I guess because he didn't wet himself in public.

11. exactly... like when Reagan started rambling at the end of the Mondale
debate...

And I thought "he might be sunk!," it was so obvious (Alzheimer's, as we now know...)

Of course the bootlicking "free" press immediately started proclaiming how "well" Reagan had done...

12. As long as they own the voting machines it will be SOP
Its after the 2006 elections I fear. An obvious stolen election will not sit well with the people this time around.

15. This is a thoughtful post.
There is going to be a fight, I am sure.

But he really is a cornered rat. Short of another war, he goes down for the count now.

What do you think the odds this guy gets another war resolution through this (up for reelection) congress?? And he can't pull out of this, short of another war.

He is not going to be skulking out of town - he gets run out on a rail.

He cannot even begin to stop what is coming in 2006. The day he can stop the bleeding in all 50 states, I will take my hat off to him. It is just impossible for him.

In our lifetime we will see a President impeached with an underlying charge of treason - in one form or another. Not a G-damned thing he can do to stop it, either.

He'll wiggle and squirm. That is all he can do.

Joe

17. After "September the 11th" as Pinhead** is so fond of quoting,
they couldn't allow the Democrats to be in power. Mid-term elections were a must win, especially after Sen Jeffords switched parties and gave the Democrats control of the Senate. After Shock and Awe and the lies leading up to it, there was no way they would allow a Democrat to win the Presidency, they couldn't, especially if that Democrat were Sen Kerry (Iran Contra, BCCI). Now they are even deeper in and mid-term elections '06 will have to "go" their way. They can't allow Democrats to control the House or the Senate, let alone both. And '08 Presidential election? Forget about it!

21. Oddly enough, I think out best hope is our professional military
intervening to "defend and protect" the Constitution
as they are sworn to do. In any case, how ugly it
does or does not get depends largely on what the
professional military and security services choose
to do, and it's hard for me to see them being strong
advocates for the Bushites at this point.
