9. Ah, telegrams are a bit more expensive. I'd suggest that folks go in

on sending one or divide up who they are going to.

I sent one to Lincoln Chafee today. For a couple of lines, my name and address (they charge per word for that too) and hand-delivery, it cost me $94. It was worth it, but at that kind of money, we can't each call every senator.

Maybe folks should post here when they send a telegraph so we know who's been "hit."

I called toll free numbers for Senators to ask them to fillibuster. All were busy. However, when I called their offices with the D.C. area code, I got through. I guess we've got to spend a little money to make our voices heard.

22. I've got his back and called both of my senators both in D.C. and

their local offices. Senator Clinton's staffer said she's add my name to "the tally." So now we're voting on this?:shrug:

And I have e-mailed everyone I dared, asking them to get on board with this. I know that at least two others have called, and more have e-mailed. Everyone I know is probably sick to death of hearing from me, by now!:D

Message I'm faxing (Trying to be diplomatic with them):

Dear Senator,

I am respectfully requesting that you join with the many brave Senators who have decided that Judge Alito is not the right man to be the next Supreme Court Justice of The United States.

If you are unwilling to support a filibuster, please at least consider NOT VOTING FOR CLOTURE! What is the rush? Can't you at least let your fellow senators speak and discuss why they feel this man is not right for the job?

As a voter I find it very distressing that you are unwilling to listen to what others have to say on this critical national appointment that will affect the justice system for the rest of history in The United States.

I simply ask you, to ask yourself....Is this man truly the BEST we can do? Is this nomination bringing us together, or, further dividing us, as a nation? As a Senator of The United States, am I willing to stand up and be a leader for those whom I represent?

Please Senator, step back, take a deep breath....Americans need you and want you to be a leader.
