I apologize for the mass email, but as time is of the essence I wanted to get you all at once:

"The Young Turks" are doing a true filibuster of the Supreme Court Nomination of Samuel Alito Jr. The show will remain LIVE, on the air, until a filibuster is announced by the Senate. NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. We invite all to take part in this -- we will accept calls through the nights and days, bring in guest-hosts when necessary. We are dedicated to getting the attention of the Senate, and we need your help. We will not stop talking until our voices are heard. The show will begin at 6:00 p.m. EST TODAY (airing on Sirius 146 and through the website, theyoungturks.com) and will remain on the website and on iTunes until the very end.

Please let people know this is going on. The show will stream video live through their website, www.theyoungturks.com, and the people at RadioPower.org are on board to keep the show going LIVE through iTunes/podcast. Please let your supporting readers know. They can call in, they can take part, they can make a difference (call in number is 323.866.8201) We need to stop the nomination of Alito, and we are using our technology to do this. We ask people to sit outside their Senators doors in protest. We ask people to make calls until they are answered. We want people to speak until they truly are heard. "The Young Turks" will remain on air and on video until a filibuster is announced, or until Alito is nominated. We are filibustering the filibusters.

Trish is, by any standard, a vivacious, loving, beautiful, caring, bright young woman whose company (during a protest march in SF) was an honor for an old, homely Nut like me. Her dad is top-notch, too! I was in hog heaven that day with her, Tinoire, and noiretblu (and some male DUers, too) ... some of the most terrific people I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

They're getting punchy and loose, but also keeping the filabuster flame going. A good common meeting ground for a lot of people on the same wavelength about this.

35. I've been listening for about 6 hours now.

I generally only listen to 1-2 hours a day (picking up, dropping off kids). They have come far in the last year and a half or so that I've been listening to them. They are making a STAND.

I an supporting them by keeping their show on my computer, and feeling weepy when I hear their raspy voices. I do voice work for a living.... That sound HURTS. I hope they do not cause serious damage to their vocal chords. They need to get a few local politicians/DJ's to step in and take 6 or so hour breaks each. There could always be one 'young turk' on the air.... the others need lemon water, sleep, and to suck on some aloe vera.

They are doing what our SENATORS need to do!
