I know she was pissed at BushInc over LIHEAP legislation he killed that she and Kerry wrote.

3. I just called and spoke to a very nice man in Snowe's office

he gave no indication of her thinking, but said he would add my opinion to the list, and I'll get a letter after the vote. The fact of the matter though, is that we have only 41 votes for a filibuster at the moment and we still have to hear from 10 Democrats. If any of them fold and vote for cloture, Snowe and Chafee will have no incentive to join a filibuster. If we maintain 41 votes, Snowe and Chafee might join us. Of course, in that event we technically wouldn't need them - though it would be nice if we had some Republicans on our side.

Collins is a lost cause. She will carry whatever water the Administration and Senate leadership demands.

because Alito will side with BushInc over the Senate and the people every time.
