But I think Bush still would have won Ohio without them, albeit by narrower length. In Flordia, Katherine Harris' actions were enough to steal the election because it ultimately ended up closer than Florida. But Blackwell definately tried to suppress the vote, and thus makes him just as bad as Harris (both of them are going to lose this year!)

8. Rove's strategy is very shortsighted.

He divides people, sections off a base of gullible voters, and calls it a mandate. Eventually people get wise to the fact that his party talks big but doesn't deliver competent government. Now that he's been exposed, all he can do is lamely try to keep the base from further eroding by playing them for fools over and over again. Looks to me like he's painted himself into a very small corner.

It's like business: you can put out a product and advertise it to the hilt and make big claims and offer incentives for buying, but if the product doesn't make you happy, you aren't going to go back and waste your money again.
