I'm voting absentee because I am in the process of moving to another county in Texas, and I wanted to make sure my vote was counted. However, I noticed a couple of things: 1. The instructions carried this legend: Party affiliation: Republican = REP, Democratic=DEM, Libertarian=LIB, Independant=IND. BUT NOWHERE ON THE BALLOT ITSELF WAS ANY CANDIDATE IDENTIFIED WITH ANY PARTY AFFILIATION. Now what's up with that???? 2. The repub was always listed first. ALWAYS!!! I thought that they were supposed to stagger the party affiliation. ????? 3. They include a tiny breakable pencil taped to a piece of paper that says, "Mark your ballot with this pencil". Mine was broken, so I used a No. 2 pencil instead. How many people will know to do this if it is not explained that the optical scanning machine will not read INK???
Oh, and instead of marking the straight Dem ticket place, I marked each individual candidate. WOOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!!
