U.N. to hold hearings into Halliburton Foreign Corrupt Practices?

With all the Bush Administration talk about graft, corruption, and kickbacks at the U.N., would anyone be surprised to see a U.N. inquiry into the allegations that Halliburton has routinely bribed government officials in developing countries such as Nigeria?

and the proposal in Fall River. Also we know of the kidnappings of three LNG workers in Nigeria.

Because of the paragraph Dead Eye Dick shoved into the 2005 Energy Bill, (only the feds have siting authority) we've arrogantly been told it's a done deal.

LNG is Dead Eye Dick's baby, right?

There are five proposed sitings in my state, Oregon. (Four on the Colombia river and one directly across from the airport in my small environmentally pristine town.)

LNG has consumed my life for the better part of two years. Am I wrong to say it's a scam?

1. Have Ron Wyden work with Byrd and Rockefeller in the Senate. If you send me the info, I can make a point of going to see Senator Wyden during his next Oregon Open House (every Tuesday when Congress is in session). I first spoke with his chief legal counsel back in April on the Halliburton stuff. Senators Byrd and Rockefeller are keen to protect - and expand - America's own energy-producing jobs, right here at home. Foreign LNG threatens these good jobs.

2. File suit in Federal Court, to insist that all required ecological impact studies are done.

All of our representatives, local, state and federal know about Jordan Cove Energy in Coos Bay/North Bend, as well as Bradwood Landing on the four Columbia River sitings. Publically, they will not give their opinions, being politicians and all. We have talked w/an aide to Gov. Kulongoski, Rep. DeFazio, our state reps, our local city councils and written to both senators and gotten no where.

The worse thing is, the proposed pipelines leading from the terminals, all go to California. Essentially, Oregon would be the gas station for California. And it's been proven that California does not need the LNG.
