The latest poll taken put Lamont at 37% and Lieberman at 50%. Schlesinger is at 5%.

4. Lamont lost in in August when he let up, big time
After winning the primary, Lamont went on vacation in Maine. He did not put lots of money into ads until very recently. Lamont should have put Lieberman away with effective ads in August but failed to do so. Now it may take a miracle for Lamont to win.

9. I'm in
How much you got to wager?

Unless joe kicks the bucket, then all bets are off.

BTW, I have a personal policy of never losing a bet. I only wager on bets I can't lose.

I'll take all the money you are willing to give me.

38. Please don't misunderstand. I'm not the mob.
There are bets and sure bets.

A sure bet is something like: nobody makes it off this ball of dirt alive and Lieberman wins over Lamont.

In my book it's about the same odds.

39. You missed the bargain rate
I bet heavily on Lieberman immediately after the primary. Bodog.com put it up at pick-em, which was incredible ignorance. I bet it many times and also at -135 (ratio of 135 to win 100). I posted the link many places including on DU, if I'm not mistaken. The odds climbed above -200 then some genius bet it down to -130 a few weeks ago so I dove in for more. Now the odds have soared and I could guarantee a profit regardless of the result by betting on Lamont, but I think I'll just keep what I have.

Understand I'm rooting for Lamont but I'll seize the advantage situation no matter what it is. I'm still kicking myself for not giving -150 odds on Arnold a few months ago. I got greedy and waited for something better but everyone else had the same idea I did, and the odds skyrocketed.

6. The polls are bullshit. That's how I feel.
The union PULLED their support for Lieberman and threw it Lamont's way. Joe has been stepping on his tongue at every turn. I don't believe the polls for a minute.

11. What bothers me...
...is that if the Senate is an even split or close, the Republicans will pull out all the stops to recruit him, and I wouldn't be surprised for him to caucus with them.

15. Can't *possibly* happen: Lieberman *pledged*....
... during the primary campaign, that if elected as an indy he would *remain* a dem and would *caucus* with the dems.

Don't you believe him?

Edited on Wed Oct-11-06 10:52 PM by Art_from_Ark
After all, he'd be in the Senate for another 6 years, and the way he's been siding with the Repubs on matters like the bullshit war, and he has refused to acknowledge the choice of the Democratic voters of Connecticut and went and formed his own, single-candidate, single-election party,

31. If he wants to make an indipendent run for president, he won't do that
Although frankly Joe caucusing with the GOP would be better than an indi run for POTUS.

18. Unfortunately I disagree.
With such a small state, there has to be massive media saturation. I just don't see a shift in voter opinion happening.

22. Lamont
just put another 8 million in the race. The Crosstabs show Lamont only with a small lead among Dems and down 8 among independents. If he can move the needs with Dems, he can win.

I trust the polls comparatively more than I trust the election results, especially where electronic voting is concerned.
