Why I can't Sleep Returning Troops fight for VA Benefits
My Job now is full time. I have about 450 cases on my desk of troops who are being **** by the VA.
The news is starting to pick up on these stories. Heres my problems these heroes suffer from PTSD and other disabilities. So here what the dam VA claims misplace records, delays in treatments, outright denials, and even have given some of these kids electroshock therapy.

My God are we living in the 19 century or the 21st century. I need to rant tonight. I posted about how budget cuts killed a vet and how kids with PTSD are being treated like shit. But these Replugs wave their flags put arms around them just for votes. I want to just go off on them. Families of these kids are angry as hell but just don't want to talk to the news. I cannot blame them there replugs payback hurts them like hell.

You all know about Hastert and Foley. Heres something you my not know in his in-box is our budget for the VA. That why after work I go work for John Laesch ruining against Hastert. Just had to rant here guys its getting harder and harder to just stay focused

1. Did you see the recent GAO report on the VA and their budgets for
the last few years? It'll make your head pop. They are cannibalizing their maintainence budget just to pay for medical care expenses. Their last few budgets were set based on data from before the invasion of Iraq.

3. And we love the heart you have for doing this work...
Hubby and I are vets. We are at the VA a couple times a month for his health care and the people that work there are fantastic. They truly care about the Vets and the work they do.

I can understand how frustrating it gets...even more so when young men and women suffer and there is so little you can do.

But your love and compassion goes a long way in helping. I can't speak for all Vets, but I will tell you this.

Thank You :patriot:

5. Monkeyman....that's what we are here for...
Rant on....

The Repugs have never cared about our military men and women....there is absolutely no reason why the system is so poorly run.....Rumsfeld was working on closing VA hospitals.....but the Repugs supported him anyway...

Do you know that they tucked away 20 million for the celeberation of a successful Iraq war but they cut the funding for research on war head wounds....

If the Dems get in power they should reappropriate this money to the veterans....and when * veto's the bill then Americans will know the scorn that he has for our military...

How is John Laesch doing in the polls?

I know the soldiers appreciate everty thing you are doing for them. I certainly do...

Bush eliminates TBI care for Veterans !!

From:"Democratic Leader Pelosi"

To: "Democratic Leader Pelosi"
Subject: Op-ed NY Daily News on TBI
Date: Thu, 21 Sep 2006 14:43:33 -0400
Please see an op-ed below by the head of Iraq and Afghan Veterans of America on cuts to programs that treat Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The Republican-Controlled Congress has cut the funding for the treatment of TBI that affects more than 100,000 Iraq war veterans.

In March of this year House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats warned Americans and the Congress that the GOP budget would eliminate TBI programs.

See the warning by Democrats below: http://www.housedemocrats.gov/news/librarydetail.cfm?library_content_id=675

“Eliminates Traumatic Brain Injury programs. The Bush budget eliminates funding for the $9 million Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) state grant program and the $3.1 million TBI Protection and Advocacy Grants program. There are 5.3 million Americans who live with disabilities resulting from brain injury.”

10. They want to tighten the definition of PTSD,
and re-evaluate everyone who is being compensated for PTSD. They would like it if all the PTSD sufferers would kill themselves, so then they would be off the rolls! Hubby was a tunnel rat in Viet nam, and has severe PTSD. Occasionally some repuke a**hole will make a joke about getting paid for PTSD, as if it was not a "real" disease. God bless you for helping veterans. This administration sure as hell won't!
