Greater Bible Way Temple:"God give us victory over Democrats and liberals"

http://www.mlive.com/news/jacitpat/index.ssf?/base/news-0/1160150703112700.xml&coll=3

<snip>

The vice president warned Democratic leadership would derail U.S. efforts in Iraq and the war on terror, taking aim at their opposition to the USA Patriot Act, warrantless wiretapping and newly passed legislation permitting the use of some torture techniques on detainees.

Cheney lauded Walberg's stances on boosting border security and slashing taxes.

"The last time the Democrats were in control in 1993, they passed a massive tax increase, and they'll do it again if they can," Cheney said. "We need to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, and we'll do that with a Republican Congress."

Even the fundraiser's prayer took on a partisan tinge, led by the Rev. Ira Combs, head of the Greater Bible Way Temple in Jackson.

"God give us victory over Democrats and liberals -- and others who don't mean well for this country," Combs said.

I wonder what happens when the two sides are praying for opposite results?????

28. Same thing as if no one prays. Same thing as if only one side prays.
Nobody's listening to prayers.

7. I hope someday people see these monsters for what they are:
Power-hungry, greedy, arrogant assholes. That's all they are. They want more for themselves and less for everyone else. I'm glad not all Christians feel this way.

19. Well, all we have to do is get the atheists to shut up, throw the gays
under the bus, and quit it with all this silly nonsense about reproductive rights, and there's a veritable BO-FUCKING-NANZA of glassy-eyed, Jesus drunk religious right goons just chomping at the bit to start voting for our candidates!

14. many religious right believe god chose W
Some of my students told me god went into the FL2000 ballot boxes to ensure a W victory. When I told them my God does not steal elections, they just stared uncomprehendingly.

There were churches that the day after election day in 2000 held prayer services that W would be seen to win in FL.

17. How about that last evil line in Arabic?
Since the Taliban seems to have completely taken over fundamentalist Christianity here in America, allow me to help fundies get closer to what they're becoming by posting the Arabic version of their fatwa here:

إلهة يعطينا نصرة على ديموقراتيات وليبراليّات -- وأخرى الذي لا يعني جيّدا ل هذا بلد.

22. Some people believe the Earth is 6,000 years old & dinosaurs were on
"Noah's Ark." They believe that any second- last week, oh, sorry, next week- (next week, for sure) they will be magically beamed up a la Star Trek to some cartoon version of the Afterlife, so they can watch us fornicators, sinners, masturbators and Democrats duke it out with Satan on a big diamondvision TV.

They believe Iraq was behind 9-11. They believe George Bush is a competent leader.

Some people believe a LOT of bullshit.

23. Unfortunately...
Ohhhhhhh yes they do.

The next step will be sending their children into Democrat party buildings and meeting centers with bombs strapped to their little bodies.

It's funny how both the Islamic extremists and Christian extremists gleefully misuse children to further their goals: the former packs bombs to them and sends them to death for the cause, and the latter strips and fondles them for the cause.

Left, they absolutely do believe it. Be careful around them.
